Monthly Challenge #10: Green, Green

Earth Day? What's that? It sounds stupid. But it isn't. Don't you think we need a day to appreciate the Earth that has given us so much? Don't you think it needs some . . . improvements? That's why this month, the Lucky 38 is focusing on this shattered planet and how to make it more liveable for future generations. Have an idea to make this hellish Wasteland a little greener? Know a way to keep the crops alive? Submit it to us! The winner will receive a special gift and a place in the Hall of Fame!

Monthly Challenge #9: Music Month

Do you like music? Do the sounds of the radios playing in the darkness provide comfort? Do you ever feel like getting up and singing your heart out? In celebration of "Music in Our Schools Month", a March tradition from before the War, the Lucky 38 is collecting songs for our radio station! Submit your favorite songs, or record yourself making beautiful music, to be featured as a contributing artist!

ooc-- as a musician for most of my life, I support the arts in public schools. Music is something you can pour your heart and soul into. It provides a much-needed outlet, and comfort when you're stressed or upset. However, due to budget cuts, many schools around the country have eliminated their bands, choirs, and arts programs. I know the band teacher position in my own high school was eliminated the year after I graduated. I encourage everyone to support the arts programs in their schools, to remind the districts that kids need the freedom of expression as much as they need facts and figures.

If you have an interest in music, you can find hundreds of intrumental tutorials on YouTube. Your local rec center might even offer private classes! It's a great way to learn a new skill. Plus, it's really fun, too.

Monthly Challenge #8: All You Need is . . .

There's something in the air this month, and I'm not talking about the gammma radiation! Love flourishes in New Vegas and throughout the Wasteland! Let your friends know how much they mean to you by sending them a valentine or a kind message. Each Lucky 38 member will receive a special Valentine in their inbox, courtesy of the Lucky 38!

Monthly Challenge #6: Tis the Season

It's been a wonderful year. We've worked hard, played hard, and developed a strong community. The challenge this month, as we wind the year to a close, is to decorate New Vegas for the best winter bash we've ever experienced! String up some lights, pile up fake snow, or plant some holly in Gomorrah . . . whatever you want to do! Send us a picture of your efforts! A picture of yourself in holiday gear counts!
