So this doesn’t look like anything special, and truthfully it’s not. It’s tiny and isn’t really a good representation of anything, and is in fact consisting primarily of pulled points and cubes. Point is, though, this is the first thing I’ve ever designed myself on any sort of CAD program and more so, it’s the first thing I’ve designed that I’ve printed. So it’s not great and honestly I’m probably the only person who’s going to appreciate it, but it’s still pretty special to me.

KS Update #2 is here!

2 weeks down, 6 to go and it's been another busy week for 3D Wizards indeed! We've nearly doubled our funding level since last week as we pick up even more momentum than before. So, without further a due here is what we've done this last week to promote 3D Wizards, and how we are ramping things up moving forward: Spreading The Message Among the strategies we've shared last week we spoke about the article in The Spectator we were expecting. We have it on good authority that the story will be published in tomorrow (Monday)'s morning paper. It will be the first of many stories you'll see about 3D Wizards in the coming days and we will try to keep backers up to speed on additional articles as they come. We've also stepped up a flyer campaign. We specifically targeted McMaster University with a limited run of 100 flyers which we quickly went through. The next batch of 1000 flyers will be spread across both McMaster and Mohawk as well as local hobby shops and other key locations across the city. Once we are satisfied with our coverage of post secondary establishments in Hamilton we will expand this campaign to Toronto and Niagara. All of the previously mentioned avenues mentioned are still being pursued, and we are on the lookout for more ways to spread the word at all times. We are aware also that the mobile site is not displaying as intended. While the site is clearly under construction 1st impressions are important so we will be resolving that as soon as possible. Backer Spotlight This week we had the pleasure of meeting a backer named Christian Nowzari. He came to us because of his desire “to produce the toys adult collectors have wanted but the toy companies have decided not to produce”. He even has a proven track record of success with his 1st creation: The “King Cobra Command Chair”.  Designed to be the perfect complement to the villains of the G.I. Joe universe, it was highly praised by the collector audience. Unfortunately due to the high costs of hiring a sculptor, manual constructing and assembling each unit by hand only 40 of the 100 he built were sold. This was not enough to recuperate his initial costs and he was forced to shelf the idea of spending thousands of dollars on creating expensive specialty injection molding equipment or trying his hand at bigger, grander endeavors because of his limited hobbyist budget.  However, creators like Christain or Max are like an avid reader finishing a great novel. The thought of not creating or realizing our dream is as preposterous and unthinkable as the thought of never finishing that great story to the reader; never finding out how it ends! So he searched for alternatives to overcome the obstacles before him, much as Max had done before him when 3D Wizards was but a twinkle in his eye.That’s when he found us! After talking with Max he was shown how he could achieve more than he had already done in days at a fraction of the cost. Now, with a new plan and options he never before thought he’d have through 3D Wizards his next goal is looking much more realistic than he ever dreamed it could be. Christian is the perfect example of the type of person 3D Wizards is designed to enable; Passionate, driven individuals from any background who don’t have the means to buy precision equipment on their own. When, not if, we find even just a few hundred people like Christian 3D Wizards will become a reality; Kickstarter or not. That’s why it’s so important for those on the fense about backing to get in early!It was no coincidence Christian found 3D Wizards, because of his determination it was inevitable. Max has known it is inevitable that 3D Wizards will succeed from its inception because he knew he wasn’t alone. He knew that there are others who are as determined as he is to see their imaginations become reality. When Christain reached out to us, he confirmed that truth. Max isn’t alone; Christain isn’t alone; you’re not alone!3D Wizards has been likened to internet cafes in the era before the common home PC and that is a comparison we wholeheartedly agree with. Someday, in the not too distant future, similar technology will be in every home. We are bringing you the opportunity to sample the future today. We’re giving you the chance to get exposure on the ground floor and become an expert before any of your peers. Don’t let the opportunities we offer during Kickstarter pass you by!
