I was blessed today. As you all know, I have been in a battle with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). I have been taking the medication Nilotinib to reverse the process of my white blood cell replication. This medication has made me sick, made my body ache, made my head hurt, my head and skin itch, my hair started to fall out, etc.. It's been debilitating, to say the least. Recently, I got a bill from the hospital saying I owed close to 4k for the 4 day/night hospital stay as well as the ambulance ride less than half a mile. I prayed for a higher power and miracle. Well, that miracle happened at work today.
It was 30 minutes before I left to go home. I got an email that broke me down, made me smile and cry after I read it. Let me rewind....my school that I work for was doing a fund raiser for cancer research and support. This coming up October 10th the volleyball team is having a pink out event to support cancer victims. The shirts are pink and it says, "Fight like a Warrior, nobody fights alone". Our mascot is a Warrior. I wanted one, but I am a big boned man and wear an XXXL but they didn't have my size, so I emailed the coach asking if I could get a 3XL. She responded that she would get back to me. Well two days went by, nothing, and I was getting nervous because the deadline is Friday 10/3. But the email came today and it stated "you're in luck! We can hook you up with a 3XL and you won't have to pay because we want to give it to you. Plus we want to donate all of the proceeds to the t-shirt sale to your cause". To say I broke down would be an understatement. God heard my prayers and He is Great. What a blessing. Sorry for the long write up but I had to share. We are all in this fight together! Cancer picked on the wrong guy this time #cancerkiller
