Barghesi Concepts, Warhammer 40K (2018)
20 Pages of development sketches here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/58Y4RA
The āhyper-violentā Barghesi are an alien race referred to in various old codices and rulebooks for Warhammer 40,000. Information on them is scant, and to my knowledge there is no official visual media depicting them. Last year I decided to use this as an opportunity to conceptualise the race. What I ended up with was a race of space octopus-chimps the size of a large troll or ogre dressed as thought they were enemies from an id software game. So I hope you enjoy!
Hereās some WiP pics of my current commission - Zevanna Agha, the Fate Keeper, from Hordes! Iāve added some creeper vines over it, since the client is going for something of a whole āovergrown abandoned relics awoken againā vibe. Itās still missing a couple of the orrery rings in these pics - it was easier to work without them in the way. XD
Let me know what you think! :D
Oh wow! That looks amazing!
āEavy Metal from Codex : Space Wolves, 1993.
I still hate this wishy-washy-is-it-blue-or-is-it-grey colour.
Thanks to fuckyeahbritisholdschoolgaming, I canāt look at pictures and not think,Ā āew, that was theĀ āred periodā too.ā
White Dwarf 93 - September 1987. John Sibbick, 1987.
Curiously (or not I suppose) WD93 has the first 40K article in the Dwarf - the launch spectacular - and the last ever AD&D article.
From White Dwarf 108, December 1988. Kev Walker, 1988.
Eldar Harlequins. Back cover of the Warhammer 40,000 Compendium. Dave Gallagher(?), 1989.
You know it is.
Googles Primaris marines.
(There are a ton of people who have made loyalist Primaris versions of traitor legions.)
(The only exception I have seen is no Sons of Horus⦠guess itās easier to use the Luna Wolf colours and say you are a Space Wolf spin off than explain why you have the big evil eye on your heraldry.)
These seem like a much more natural expansion to Blackstone Fortress than the Ambull. I think these will get added before the Ambull
Hellboy got smaller!
But they look fantastic! Somehow BSF didnāt appeal to me, even tho the gameplay looks fun! But those minis are really cool!
Figure by Martin Grandbarbeā, based on artwork by John Blanche.Ā
(When I was hoping for a new Warpsmith mini⦠I was not expecting him to come with a spider tank horseā¦.)
(I am really happy to see that GW is trying out all sorts of new ans strange things as they make more and more Daemon engines.)
Warcry images.
(Some one went and grabbed screen shots from the trailer, looks very Necromunda likeā¦. and given that Mordhime went boom with the rest of the old world, makes sense to try something new.)
(One of the guys based of his height next the crouching human might be a Chaos Dwarf, yay!)
Warcry Revealed
This is Warcry ā a new skirmish game from the makers of Kill Team and Warhammer Underworlds that allows you to experience the visceral carnage of battle in the Mortal Realms in a whole new way.
This is more than just a skirmish version of Warhammer Age of Sigmar ā itās hyper-kinetic, itās tactical and itās very, very bloody, featuring bold new game mechanics.
Warcry is perfect for narrative players looking to forge character-driven campaigns where warbands grow and develop through their own journey. Meanwhile, gamers looking for a close-matched, fast and exciting experience will find a game that fits both their coffee table and coffee break.
