you don’t even remember what thought started it because they all came at once. you sat on the edge of the bed with your elbows resting on your knees as your breathing grew shorter by the second.

you tell yourself to calm down because you’ve done it before, but your body doesn’t seem interested in listening. you inhale sharply before another breath catches halfway through.

jude crouches down a few feet away so he isn’t towering over you. he rests one arm across his knee while keeping his movements slow and gentle.

“look at me for one second.” he says calmly while waiting for a response.

eventually your eyes find his, “there you are.” he gives you the smallest smile.

“you’re okay.” he says while keeping his own breathing slow and steady.

you shake your head immediately, “doesn’t feel like it.” you whisper while another tear slips down your cheek.

“i know.” jude nods understandingly, “i’m not going to tell you it doesn’t feel scary because i know it does.” he says while keeping his eyes locked on yours.

“but i’m telling you that you’re not going through it by yourself.” he shifts a little closer while still giving you space.

you close your eyes because hearing his voice is the only thing stopping your thoughts from completely taking over. you try to match your breathing to his without much success.

“can i come closer?” jude asks quietly.

you nod immediately, and he slowly sits beside you on the bed. he leaves just enough space between you so that you don’t feel crowded.

“do you want me to hold your hand?” he asks.

you glance down at your own shaking hands before nodding again, jude carefully slides his hand into yours. his thumb begins slowly tracing circles over each of your knuckles.

“you’re doing really well.” jude says softly.

“i’m literally falling apart.” you mumble through watery eyes, placing your head on his shoulder.

“you’re surviving something i definitely wouldn’t.” he says while giving your hand another gentle squeeze.

“that’s not saying much,” you joke as you feel your breathing slow back down, “i hate when this happens.” you admit quietly while staring at your intertwined hands.

“i know.” jude nods.

“i feel stupid.” you whisper while your shoulders slump.

“why?” he asks gently.

“because i know nothing’s actually wrong.” you sniffle while wiping under your eyes, “but my brain just,” you stop talking as your breathing catches again, “it won’t stop.”

“your brain is trying to protect you.” he says carefully,“it just accidentally triggers when nothing is actually wrong.” he gives you a small smile.

“that doesn’t make you stupid, love.” he smiles, giving you a kiss.

“i’m sorry you had to come home to this.” you mumble while hiding your face against his hoodie.

“you really need to stop apologizing for being human, it happens to us all.” he says while wrapping his arm around your shoulders.

“i wasn’t expecting to have a panic attack today.” you admit.

“i wasn’t expecting traffic after training either.” jude replies with a tiny smile, trying to make you feel better, “things happen.”

your nod your head, “can we just stay here for a while?” you ask while looking up at him.

“as long as you want.” he says while pulling the blanket over both of you.

you curl into his side, listening to the steady beat of his heart beneath his hoodie and you close your eyes as his fingers continue playing with your hair.

jobe’s family and yours were always close and you grew up with him and his brother. being neighbors was always the best. you’d walk home from school with both of them, spend holidays together, sneak out just to play football, and your favorite thing to do was talk to jobe from your window at night when you two should have been asleep.

you both talked for hours and hours, in the end it probably added up to years of talking. you always had a soft spot for him, as he did for you. it was the same with jude, but you did feel a little different when you were with jobe, especially alone.

when jude’s career blew up you and jobe would go to every single day to his games. jude would always tease you two and say you looked like a couple, the internet thought so too at first.

you always brushed it off, laughing, but never denying it. jobe would get all gushy too, but he would deny it everytime, which is why you always thought it would never happen.

you never had a boyfriend either, or a crush honestly. you only had eyes for jobe. that was until one of jobe’s close friends told him he had a crush on you and to get you two together.

you had only meant to look at a few replies after jobe uploaded the post, thinking most people would be happy for him and supportive of the moment. you stare at the blanket in your lap while your thoughts keep replaying the words you saw.

the comments had started normal before they turned into people judging you, calling you annoying, accusing you of trying too hard, and picking apart everything about you. you rub your thumb against the edge of the blanket while trying to ignore the heaviness in your chest and tears building up in your eyes.

you put your phone away before you could read any more because you knew every extra comment would stick with you longer. you leave the phone on the other side of the couch and lean back against the cushions.

jobe was still in the kitchen, completely unaware of what happened, opening the fridge while grabbing a bottle of water after coming back from a day out with his brother. he twists the cap open while humming quietly to himself.

“was it because of my post?” jobe asks gently while holding the phone in his hand, getting closer to you.

you nod slowly because you already know he understands. you look down while your cheeks get warm from embarrassment, “i didn’t want you to feel bad about it.” you whisper while playing with your sleeve, to avoid eye contact again.

“why would you feeling hurt make me upset with you?” jobe asks while putting the phone back down beside him.

you lift your eyes toward him while waiting for what he says next, “people online see a picture and say anything just for engagement.” jobe explains while leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees.

“they don’t know the first thing about you, or us.” jobe says while giving you a small reassuring smile.

you feel your shoulders relax a little because hearing it from him makes you forget some of the comments.

you let out a quiet breath and look away from the floor “it still sucks seeing people say those things.” you admit while resting your head against the couch.

“yeah, i know it does.” jobe says while nodding slowly, “i hate that people can be so comfortable saying things about someone they don’t even know.” he adds while shaking his head slightly.

you glance at him and notice how upset he looks for you and you watch him move closer and sit beside you again, “you don’t have to pretend you’re okay around me.” jobe says while giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze.

you smile a little, “i guess i just didn’t want you thinking i was being dramatic.” you say quietly while looking at him.

“you’re allowed to have feelings.” jobe replies while looking at you seriously.

“someone else being stupid online shouldn’t decide your feelings for yourself.” jobe says while smiling softly.

you laugh quietly and cover your face for a second “you’re really good at making me feel better.” you say while looking back at him.

“i try.” jobe says, giving you a wink and smiling while taking a sip of his water.

“also, for the record, i like the person i posted about.” jobe adds while nudging your shoulder playfully.

you roll your eyes playfully and gently push his arm back while smiling, “you’re so dumb.” you tease while leaning back into the cushions.

the waiter finally made his way back and asked for our orders, you waited until everyone took theirs to do your prank. you bit your lip and looked over to lamine nervously.

“am i allowed to get the pasta this time?” you ask with pleading eyes.

lamine’s face immediately dropped and turned white, the waiter paused, and his mother immediately spoke, “lamine yamal nasraoui ebana.” she said in a stern voice.

“get whatever you want honey,” she smiled at you, “get her the pasta, thank you.” she told the waiter as he nodded and left again.

“lamine what is wrong with you?” she said, furrowing her eyebrows.

his dad spoke up, “that is not the way you treat your woman, son.” he shook his head no, disappointed.

“what!? i don’t know what she’s talking about!” he defended himself, looking at you in shock.

“you told me to lay off a few pounds the other week.” you mumbled.

he almost laughed, “what? you’re out of your mind.”

lamine’s father stood up and started to walk towards the other side where you two were sitting, you immediately waved your hands close to your chest.

“no, no, it’s just a prank!” you said nervously, “i’m sorry.”

his mom let out a grateful sigh, “you scared me!” she said, putting her hand on her chest.

lamine put his hand on your thigh, “i’m eating half of your pasta.” he whispered.

kylian had invited you to have lunch with his team before he went off to training in madrid for a while, you obviously accepted, but you weren’t letting him go without pulling a prank on him.

your salad had arrived first, before everyone else’s meal and you poked at it for a few seconds. then, you quietly looked over at kylian.

“can i ask you something?” you spoke just loud enough for him to hear.

he looked up from his pasta that had just arrived, “yeah?”

you lowered your voice, “i don’t really want the salad anymore.”

he shrugged, “that’s okay.”

you looked toward the waiter walking past, “i kind of want the truffle pasta instead.”

he smiled, rubbing your lower back, “then order it.” he nodded towards the waiter.

you hesitated, “are you sure you’re okay with that?”

he instantly frowned, giving you a confused look, “why wouldn’t i be?”

you shifted in your seat, “because it’s a lot heavier than this.”

“and?” he said, this time patting your thigh, looking at his teammates, scared.

you looked down at your salad, “i know you’ve been trying to get me to eat a little cleaner.” you said, making sure it was loud enough for everyone to hear.

then, conversation around the table stopped, and vinícius slowly lowered his fork.

rodrygo looked directly at kylian. “bro?”

kylian looked around the table, and back at you, betrayed, “i have been trying to what!?”

you held in your laugh, “i just didn’t want you thinking i wasn’t listening.”

vinícius leaned back in his chair, “kylian.” he said, while giving him a dirty look, “she eats ‘clean’ enough, look at her.”

jude smiles at you, “why are you controlling what your girl eats, mate?”

“no, i’m not controlling what she eats!” kylian raised his voice slightly, pleading.

camavinga stared at him, “oh, so you’re just one of those ‘just have a salad’ guys?” he asked.

“absolutely not!” he said, laughing out of disbelief, “she’s lying to you all!”

rodrygo shook his head, “that’s awful, kylian.”

jude couldn’t stop smiling, sensing it wasn’t true, “mate, if this is true, you’re finished.”

“i promise on everything, i have never once told her what to eat.” he laughs, throwing up his hands.

you looked up at him, “so i can order the pasta?” you ask, finally laughing into his shoulder, lifting up your phone to show you were recording.

“now, i don’t know if you can.” he rolls his eyes and pats your head.

the waiter smiled politely as he finished taking everyone’s food order. he looked around the table one last time before writing down the last few drinks.

“anything else?” he asked, tapping his pen on the notepad.

you looked at the menu again. your finger grazed absentmindedly against the list of drinks before you turned toward jude.

“i was thinking about getting one of those strawberry refreshers.” you spoke quietly.

he nodded without even looking up, “okay love.”

you hesitated, trying to make it believable, “are you sure?” you asked softly, “that it’s okay i mean.”

jude looked over at you, “yeah?” he answered, confused.

you glanced back at the waiter, “it’s got like sixty grams of sugar.” you pause for a second, and now his whole family is looking at you, “i know you’ve been telling me i should probably cut back a little.”

jude’s eyebrows practically disappeared into his hairline, “i’ve been telling you what?” he asked.

you nod, closing your lips together, “i just wanted to check first.”

the waiter awkwardly lowered his pen, looking between you two.

denise slowly turned toward her son, “jude victor william.”

then this father closed the menu in his hands shut, “is there something you’d like to tell us?” he asked calmly.

“what!?” jude said, his eyes widening.

joke smirked, definitely aware of the prank you were pulling on him, “hold on, he leaned forward, “are you rationing her drinks?” he asked.

“no!” jude answered immediately, nodding his head left and right.

you bit your lip to stop yourself from smiling as you watched denise cross her arms.

“because i raised you to mind your own plate.” she said, raising her eyebrows and giving him a look.

mark nodded in agreement, “your mother doesn’t even tell me what i can order, let alone me telling her!”

jude looked between all three of them, “i have literally never told her she can’t drink anything!”

you looked down at the menu again, “so, the refresher’s okay then?” you asked quietly.

he stared at you, “baby, you can order whatever you want, whenever.” he laughs, “hell, you could order four of them.”

jobe couldn’t help but laugh, but he tried to play it off by looking away and wiping his face.

jude pointed at his younger brother, “he’s cracking,” he said, squinting his eyes at you.

“you’re supposed to be helping me!” you said in between your teeth while giving him a light kick under the table.

“i couldn’t help it! you should’ve seen his face.” jobe grinned, “best laugh i’ve had in a while.”

you finally picked up your phone from against your glass, “thank you.” you laughed.

jude saw the recording and closed his eyes shut, “i cannot believe my entire family thought i was policing your sugar intake.”

mark reached over and patted him on the shoulder, “i’ll be honest,” he said clearing his throat, “i was about thirty seconds away from having a private father-son conversation.”

jude’s face dropped and the whole table laughed, you clung onto his arm, giving him a couple pecks to make him feel better before whispering in his ear, “i’m sorry.”

i know this is such a done before concept but i love the idea of jude bellingham x kane!reader as in maybe harry’s little sister she could be adopted anything etc but i just love the concept because i think he’d be so annoyed (harry that is) and jude’s just there.

BREAKFAST - ju. bellingham

inwhich! you were never a morning or breakfast person until you met your boyfriend, jude, which so happens to be your older brothers close friend.

you met jude a few years ago through your older brother, harry. it was technically his fault you two found each other since he’d non-stop talking about jude when he had first met him during his come-up.

and it wasn’t that he didn’t approve of jude, because he did, he loved him as a player and person. he thought he was perfect for you, the only thing he didn’t like was that jude was his friend first.

when you two first started seeing each other it was in secret. you’d text, facetime quietly at night, and hang out only at his place.

the way harry found out was because you forgot to turn off your location one time. it was a random thursday afternoon, you and jude planned a cute movie night since it was winter time.

you took an uber to his house and you were distracted by the release of your favorite show’s new season. you had been scrolling through posts, rewatching clips, and watching theories that you forgot to turn your location off.

you were cuddled on jude’s couch when you got a call from your brother. your heart dropped, so did jude’s, you assumed. you panicked instantly. not knowing if you should answer the call or ignore it.

jude told you to ignore it, then he texted you, once, twice, three times, and then five more. you tried to ignore it, but you eventually picked it up only to read,

“where are you?”

“why are you at jude’s house?”

“answer my call.”

“what are you doing?”

“i know you see this.”

“you better not be sneaking around.”

“come home, now.”

you read them all out to jude too, he couldn’t help but laugh at you for forgetting to turn off your location. jude dropped you off at your place and had a lengthy conversation with harry, that lasted for about two hours.

last night was the first time jude slept over, ever. he was a big breakfast person which you are not. you woke up from jude texting you to come downstairs for breakfast.

you finally got up about twenty minutes later and made your way downstairs. you saw jude and harry, and a full plate in an empty seat. you said good morning to both of them, rubbing your eyes.

“you want juice or water with that love?” jude asked, standing up and walking towards the fridge.

you could feel harry roll his eyes and hold his sigh back, “water is fine, thank you.”

“since when do you eat breakfast?” he scoffs, pushing your plate slightly.

“since today,” you smirked, “problem?”

he squinted his eyes, “you’re only doing it because of,” he said, nodding his head towards jude.

jude handed you the water, “i eat breakfast occasionally, harry.” you said, taking a bite.

“sure, you’ve lived with me for what, five years now?” he laughed, “and you have eaten breakfast maybe ten days out of those five years.”

“you’re just jealous no one made you breakfast, harry.” you laugh, teasing him.

jude and harry were now playing some shooting video game, you felt left out and asked jude for a turn. harry begged jude not to give you the controller, but of course jude didn’t listen to him.

he handed you the remote quickly, “thank you!” you smiled, pressing random buttons.

“i don’t even want to play anymore.” harry sighed, watching you play.

“hey!” you yelped, “i’m just not familiar with these control settings, or this game.” you said, mumbling the last part.

“jude take it back, i beg.” harry said while putting his hands together.

jude nodded no, laughing and holding you close, guiding your hands for which buttons to use. harry sighed, and eventually gave up on playing which left you and jude to play alone.

later in the day you were playing around with jude hair and put a face mask on him, harry walked by and sighed once more.

you jumped off jude’s lap to go to your bedroom door, “what is your problem?” you playfully asked.

“you’re just annoying,” harry said, as he took a glance at jude, “i can’t believe i let you do this with my friend.”

you laughed softly, “he likes me better,” you say, sticking out your tongue.

he rolls his eyes, laughing a little, “when you’re alone, yeah.”

“jude! me or harry?” you smile, opening the door and turning around so you both are facing him.

jude widened his eyes, looking between you two, and his face was heating up. he stuttered, and didn’t give an answer.

“see, that answer means me.” you shrug and smile, “right, jude?”

jude looked over at you with pleading eyes, he tucked his lips in and nodded while raising his shoulders, still not saying anything.

“thought so.” you said, pushing harry softly, and making your way back over to jude.

“i still can’t believe it.” harry laughed as he made his way out your room.
