“Addie is you! Do you not like the name…? I will continue to call you Adelaide, then! But you can call me BM instead if Bubble Man, because it is shorter.”

“Oh! But your name is Bubble Man... Why would you want to be called something that is not your name?” She’s still confused, but Dom stops her with a smile.

“Can we talk about nicknames later?” he asks. “Your friend here is sick and he really needs to go home...”

“Oh! Of course!” She frowns, knowing that sick is a bad word. “Feel better soon, friend! I am counting on you!”

@space-bubbles:

“Yeah!–O w…” He hugs Dom tight, shutting his eyes as his stomach churns again. “I will talk to you soon then and we will see space on Saturday and it will be amazing like Twitter and you. Nice to meet you, Addie!”

“Addie?” She asks, confused. “Who is Addie?”

@space-bubbles:

He’s crying again, confused and shocked about his throat and nose burning. BM wipes his mouth and nods in response. “Please, I don’t feel good… But I do not want to leave Adelaide so soon, what am I supposed to do?”

“Aw...” Dom says softly. He helps BM up and lifts him into his arms. He looks over to Adelaide. “You can talk to her on Twitter after you’re feeling better... Right now you need to rest and recover. I’m sure she will understand.”

“I do!” Addie says, pumping a fist in the air. “I understand! Your Dominic needs to repair you, so that we can hang in space!”

@space-bubbles:

“That is what it feels like! Yes! Let us go ask.” He jogs over to the person who’s in the middle of puking and taps their shoulder. “Hello! I’m wondering if what is trying to come out of me is the one that’s coming out of you?”

The person looks up at him with sick, alcohol dried eyes, giving him a “fuck off” face. BM pouts and looks back at Adelaide. “They are not help–” He’s cut off in the middle of his sentence when everything comes rushing out.

She jumps back when he starts puking, and her eyes go wide with panic. “Bubble Man! Oh no!” She looks around frantically, not knowing what to do. “He is broken!” She cries, but no one is paying attention. She spots Dominic and rushes over to him, dragging him back to BM more quickly than he can walk on his own. “Help!” She yells at him, pointing to BM.

Dom stands back up on his feet, disoriented after being dragged like that. “Ah...” He says, seeing the puddle of vomit at BM’s feet. “I should have known better than this...” He crouches next to BM and puts a comforting hand on his back. “Do you want to go home?” he asks.

@space-bubbles:

“Dominic told me to watch out for the bad feelings and this feels like one. I am not sure what it is indicating, though… I do not feel sad or angry or hurt?” BM leans into her a little, feeling like he wants to lay on the ground. “There is a push in my throat, I think. Do you know what that is?”

She hums, thinking hard and looking around the room. She sees someone puking to the side of the room, and she points. “Maybe something is trying to come out of you, like that. Should we go ask him?”

@space-bubbles:

“On Saturday! Then I can show you that I am a real robot and we can go to space! Have you ever been to space?” He the alcohol and the spinning is starting to make him dizzy and nauseas, but not knowing what those feelings are, he doesn’t ask Addie to stop.

“I have not been to space. That sounds wonderful! How will we get there?” she asks. She lets go of BM’s hands and starts doing her own thing agian. She stops though when she notices the colour of BM’s face. “You are looking not good, I think. Are you okay?”

@space-bubbles:

“I’m happy, too! I have never met someone like you before! You are amazing like Twitter!!” He watches the other dancers, seeing them grind and shake their asses. BM considers dancing like that until he sees people slap guys for trying. It’s a little shocking, but he ignores it. Adelaide is so much more important right now. “Are you wanting to hang out some time? I would like to see you again.”

“Yes! I like hanging! When would you like to hang?” She takes BM’s hands and starts dancing with him, the both of them spinning in a circle. She’s never talked to the same person for this long before, usually they leave at some point and don’t ask to see her again. The idea of having a friend is nice to her.

@space-bubbles:

“YES!!!!!!!! BESTEST OF FRIENDS!!” He jumps up and down then turns back to Dom. “Squish I am so happy and she makes my cheeks warm! It’s like in those movies!!” BM hugs Adelaide. “Do you want to keep dancing?”

“I’m so happy for you, BM,” Dom says. He glances at the time on his phone and stops the two before Addie can pull BM back out onto the floor. “The club will be closing in about a half hour. I’ll wait for you outside the door when you’re done dancing.”

Addie nods enthusiastically even if she’s not the one Dom is talking to. She waves to him and runs away with BM to dance again. “I am happy that we are friends!”

@space-bubbles:

The taste isn’t any better and he takes the lime wedges again, eating them whole. “A company is a big group of people who are in a business together. The people in that company created me and I am supposed to do what they have told me, but I do not remember what that is.” BM thanks Dom and takes Adelaide’s hands, swinging them back and forth. “Do you have a form of contact that I can use to talk to you after we are gone from the club?”

“Yes! I have contact at Twitter! It’s amazing! You can find me if you spell my name with letters!” She swings his hands back and forth with excitement. “Are we friends now??”

Dom watches them, proud and amazed that BM got someone’s number on his first night out.

@space-bubbles:

“No, but I wish he did. I’m owned by a company and they made my sister and I. I do not like her, though… She keeps telling me I’m doing the job wrong and trying to take me back to my company to be fixed. You’re not with a company?” At the bar, he hugs Dom’s arm and tells him to order thirty of the shots he had before.

She hugs Dom’s other arm and repeats what BM asked for. He orders them each two and winces when Addie hugs him. Ah, robot hugs… “You can start with these, and then I think you need to have some water.”

“Yes, Sir!” Addie salutes, then giggles before taking the shots without a problem. She can’t really taste them. She looks back to BM. “I don’t have a company, what is that?”

@space-bubbles:

“Yes! But first we have to have money to spend at the bar. So we are going to find Dominic! He’s my best friend!” BM looks around frantically for Dom and once spotted, he rushes over and hugs him dearly. “Dom! Dom! Dom! I have made a friend and we are wanting to drink, but I can’t buy anything…”

“Oh?” Dom asks. He smiles at Addie and waves at her. He already knows about her though, because he’s been following BM. “Hello. Let’s go get some drinks, then.” He lets go of BM and heads for the bar.

Addie follows them both, sticking close to BM. “Did Dominic make you?” she asks him.

@space-bubbles:

“Huh–Oh, no, I am having fun.” He starts dancing. “See? But watching you is also fun, you are a good dancer. I learned everything I know about dancing from you!” He starts to feel a little low, the shots wearing off. BM frowns and asks, “Is your system able to process and register alcohol consumption or are you not able to?”

“I can consume alcohol,” she says, smiling. She has no idea that alcohol is supposed to make you feel drunk though, she just knows how to act after watching other people drink. “Are we going to the bar?”

@space-bubbles:

“You’re not?” He watches her dance, completely in awe over everything she does. “I’m not human either! And I’m trying my best, too! I am a robot. I have never met another robot, if that’s what you are, aside from my sister!”

“You do not look like a robot…” She keeps dancing, not stoping to talk. “I do not have a sister, only a dad. He is the best human in the entire world!” She stops moving and frowns at BM when she notices he’s not dancing. “Are you not having fun?”

@space-bubbles:

“A aH O w.” He pries himself away and rubs his arms. “Now I know how Squish feels when I hug… Um, you’re very welcome! I am a real hero, in space… Please let me know when others are bugging so I can remove them. Preferably after I am no longer human… Are you human?”

“Yes!” She cries, but after a second her smile falters. “Um… No… But I’m doing my best! We should dance more, Space Hero Bubble Man!” She starts dancing again, completely forgetting about the dangers of bumping into people. Thankfully, everyone over here seems to be pretty wasted and they’re all bumping into each other anyway.

@space-bubbles:

He’s unsure why, but BM gets defensive. The temporary human steps in front of Adelaide, glaring the taller man dead in the eyes. After a few moments, he realizes what he’s doing and backs away, all bravery melting away. He then takes Adelaide’s hand and gently brings her to a more clear spot on the floor. “He was not very nice. I think this spot will keep us clear from more bad people. Are you okay?”

“Yes… I am okay…" She's still frowning, but then she jumps up with a smile and hugs BM way too tightly for his human body. "You rescued me! You are a hero, Bubble Man!"

@space-bubbles:

“I’m not sure, I have never danced before. Is that what you’re doing? Dancing? I can try that too.” He moves almost similarly to Adelaide, tripping over his own feet every now and then. The more he messes up the redder his face becomes. “A-am I doing it right?”

“Yes! You are fantastic!” She bites her lip and jumps happily as she dances. She can’t help moving through the crowd as she “dances,” her random movements making it hard to stay in one place. She listens to the music carefully, trying hard to match her body to the beat just like she learned. She bumps into someone and stops immediately when he glares down at her, frowning deeply. She shrinks back, looking up at him. “You’re scary...” She says quietly, unable to be heard over the music.

@space-bubbles:

When she turns around it’s like the world quieted around him. All he can focus on are her eyes, he hair, he face, her lips… He’s never seen anyone this interesting to him before and he’s not sure what about her is making his heart race. BM snaps back to reality when some guy shoves him as he walks past and the robot fumbles around for words.

“U m… Uh… Hi… Sorry, I thought you were someone else… But yes, I’m having fun. I’m glad to hear you are, too.” He chews his lip and looks to the side, his face feeling hot. “I’m Bubble Man… Who are you?”

“Bubble Man! That is a very cute and interesting name! Mine is Adelaide!” She smiles even more as she reaches out to shake his hand, the way you’re supposed to greet a stranger. “Do you like to dance? You can dance with me!”
