Accidentally endgame sherlolly truly is the stuff of legends, man. Like, the only thing the shippers demanded from the show for years was a) keep giving us scenes where they interact and we'll do the rest, and b) don't kill her off as a source of manpain. And then the finale comes and the writing is so convoluted and shit and unnecessarily melodramatic that the only way to plausibly interpret it is that "yeah, he actually does love her for real". And because no one wanted to deal with this nightmare show anymore, that's where it left off. Truly the patron saint of unlikely ships, I swear.

Molly is in love with Sherlock. And I don’t mean she’s got a crush on him. She’s in love with him. She knows what this bastard is like. But she thinks he’s brilliant and wonderful. As far as she is concerned, he is the only other person in that room. She just honestly and truly feels for him.

Why do I ship Sherlock/Molly? Is it because I want Molly to be happy? Oh yeah, of course… But I also think Molly Hooper might be one of the best things that ever happened to that man.

Random headcanon I just thought up:

After Sherrinford, Molly knows Sherlock has some feelings for her, he's just not ready to act on them yet. She thinks it's because it's too hard for him, too difficult to allow emotions into his life so fully.

But she's wrong. That's not the problem at all, in fact it's the opposite. It's too easy. Loving Molly, giving into those feelings, handing over his heart to her capable hands... would be almost effortless. And that terrifies him.

(Eventually, he comes around and stops being a prat, and when he does, he's proven right.)
