bitch beth (respectfully) 🐺
both genet and daryl (shame on you, pookie) called beth a bitch before. genet called mona lisa a bitch, but it was the same thing. i got curious and looked the word up.
in the beginning, bitch was not a derogatory word. it actually meant female dog (or wolf, fox etc.)
she-wolf also meant prostitute in the past, i'm going to tie this back to something else in another post. stay tuned. 🐥
we saw this on the opening credits of the france arc. i gathered everything i found:
-> a modified renaissance anatomical sketch — reminiscent of vesalius
-> french text written in red ink reads things like:
“contrôlez la mort!” → control death!
“si on sait trancher le cœur, ça va se diffuser plus vite!” → if we know how to cut the heart, it will spread faster!
“uber!” → likely shorthand for supérieur (superior) or übermensch — nietzschean “superhuman.”
“86 bpm,” “CO₂ + O₂,” and energy equations (E = 3.950 kilojoules) — signs of bioenergetic study.
the heart and arterial system are emphasized, implying viral transmission through blood and oxygen exchange.
if you ask my opinion, and i know i'm not alone in this, someone was trying to overcome death, find immortality. instead, they got zombies, something that they can neither control nor kill like the creature in frankenstein.
She´s looking at him ofc
A very quick, very wild, very passionate little drawing.
short 'n sweet (thoughts) pt.4
i wrote something about codron being a mercurian symbol, and he probably is because we know that he's going to come back for the last season. we saw him last inside a tunnel, a gate between the world of the living and the dead. (i wrote this before the seventh episode, but you got what i meant.)
hermes is mercury in the odyssey, and it gets better:
bringer of good luck?
kitchens are huge in beth and daryl's story. their last happy moment was in a kitchen. carol told before that she cannot imagine daryl in a kitchen*. lastly, i was watching coda again. while rick was assigning roles to everyone, he gave the kitchen in grady to daryl. i have a really funny explanation:
beth means house. daryl is beth's (house/home) heart (kitchen). i probably laughed for an hour after realizing this. i also noticed something while rewatching dds1:
brian is the governor, what's he doing in beth's heart? she replaced andrea, will we watch prison arc 2.0 in the future? 👀
i looked for a julian who's been deemed as important in england's history and found this woman:
she was an anchroess.
julian in dds3 was a hermit in a way. as far as he knew, he was the last englishman in england.
*if kitchen symbolizes beth's heart, is carol really unaware of daryl and beth's connection? or just thinks that it was a one-sided thing? i'm honestly curious about her take in all this.
aliens & beth greene
@atrumreginablue wrote here about some alien and space related emojis emily used on a post. they can mean anything or nothing, but maybe they were about these:
issue 75 is the one where michonne hits rick on the head at alexandria. there's a non-canon ending: rick wakes up after three weeks* and learns about the alien invasion. rick grimes 2000 is about what’s after. i think there are five issues, but the important thing is that in rick grimes 2000, no one dies until they’re brain-dead. for example, lori is alive. rick gets cut in half, but andrea saves him with an alien technology called nanites.
i thought maybe those emojis were emily’s way of saying, “she’s alive!!!!” lol
there's also another story with "an alien":
the alien in this story is probably about being a foreigner or a stranger in general. jeffrey is an american in spain, a country where he’s an “alien” to everything. daryl and carol are also aliens right now.
in addition to aaalll this, do you remember the tv show daryl watched with a bunch of kids in france?
an alien and his human lover 🙄 i read that they chose this to show daryl's situation, alone and foreign to the land. makes sense but if you haven't watched the show before, you cannot possibly know that was the context. suspicious. 🕵♀️🌚
*"it's been three weeks since atlanta." 👀
My Bethyl heart just skipped a beat.. (x)
i love that how we, as a collective, do not care being seen like lunatics and still openly root for these two lol

beth is lady liberty, right?
i noticed that in the plot of "still", they also use the word "enlightening". 🤡

the walking dead webisodes: the oath
first of all, this was an amazing episode — huge props to everyone who brought it to life. i couldn’t find any post about it (at least not one connecting everything to birdie and pookie), and i decided to write one myself. that means this post is going to contain spoilers, beware.
elizabeth means “god is an oath”, so i knew there was something about beth in this episode. this episode’s timeline coincides with rick’s comatose state in season one, everything happens in the same hospital. there are three characters: paul, karina and gale. as far as i’m concerned, paul is beth and karina is daryl. karina drives around with an injured paul, hoping to find a safe hospital or anywhere they can get help for him. when they find this hospital, gale introduces herself as a doctor, tries to treat paul but thinks that there isn’t any hope for him. then, gale somehow convinces karina and literally shoves paul’s body inside a room full of walkers and leaves him there.
this is the room by the way:
karina breaks down after this, thinking she was the last one. she talks about how much of a bullshit life she has, living with the ghost of every person she has loved and cherished. gale is kind of a grim reaper, she gives karina a choice: a lethal injection. karina gives up and chooses to die.
joke's on gale, paul is actually alive. he gets out of the walker-infested room, finds karina but it’s too late. paul blames gale, but she says she’s not a murderer because it was karina herself who wanted to die. a few quotes from her speech:
“she didn't want to be alone. she thought you were dead. we thought you were dead.”
“the only real hope we have is maybe we get to choose how it ends.”
the episode ends with paul’s monologue:
“we have to fight to live, and you gave up. you thought everything was taken away from you, but here i am. she was right, it is a choice, but you were wrong about one thing: you were never alone. you gave up on me, on all of us, but it still means something to our oath. one live, all live; so you're coming with me.”
to sum up, daryl is not alone and beth is alive. this is what would have happened if daryl would have given up at some point, but he hasn’t.
the photo above is emily's album cover for "swimteam".
i was thinking, this may be a reference to "through the looking-glass*, and what alice found there". i only read the first book, so i had to do a little bit research about this one. if you know more, feel free to add to this.
the first book is about playing cards, this one is about chess. alice starts as a white pawn and aims to overthrown the red queen. at one point, the red knight declares her as his prisoner, but the white knight saves alice. alice turns from a pawn to a queen at the end and wakes up.
we saw chess as the part of plot in the governor's story, andrea's captor.👀 (hate him, hope he rots in the hell of twd.) he was teaching meghan how to play it.
why do i think that there's a possibility all of this might be more than a theory? because of this:
tweedledum and tweedledee aren't in alice in wonderland, carroll first introduced them in through the looking-glass. i'm guessing that was a deliberate choice. plus, the cheshire cat or the white rabbit are much more famous and loved than the twins, why not use them in the first place?
we also already have an alice, sort of.
alicia is a variant of alice. her spiral heart tattoo is another reference to alice. the symbol was used on an album called "eat me, drink me". i found it on twd wiki but forgot to screenshot it at the time.
"this record is definitely so crucial to my life. i think this record shows a human side of me, shows a vulnerable side of me, which is linked to lewis carroll. [...] it is like the christ's mythology with the vampires' mythology."
- m.m. on the album's concept.
from alice in wonderland
"from the moment i fell down that rabbit hole i've been told where i must go and who i must be. i've been shrunk, stretched, scratched, and stuffed into a teapot. i've been accused of being alice and of not being alice but this is my dream. i'll decide where it goes from here."
alice in wonderland (2010)
some things are different in the movie but it aired in the same year as twd, there's no reason not to get inspired by it.

does everything get a return?
⋆.𐙚 ̊ slabtown
why slabtown? it could have been anything, such as grady, hospital etc.
keep red-light district in mind.
⋆.𐙚 ̊ romulus and remus
the twins were suckled by a she-wolf. she-wolf means prostitute in some sources.
“red-light districts are particularly associated with female prostitution.”
“a brothel was known as a lupanaria which literally means “wolf den”. they were so called because one nickname for a prostitute was lupa (“she wolf”).”
mona lisa is currently displayed in louvre, a previous wolf hunting den.
⋆.𐙚 ̊ demimonde
i wrote my opinions on demimonde and mona lisa first here, i’ll not repeat the same things but will add to what i wrote.
can all this be a mere coincidence? maybe, though i have one story in my mind to connect all these to. owen, the leader of the wolves, said to morgan that everything gets a return: a werewolf becomes a human, and a human becomes a werewolf. this is the logic. we always associate beth with nuns and virgin mary, a prostitute or courtesan is the opposite. isabelle wasn’t a nun but turned into one. what if beth’s story is the reverse? she can be walking dead's satine.
moulin rouge! (2001)
dana bethune
michonne changed her name to "dana bethune" in towl, right? they've never used a name randomly, so i looked the name up and found a man, norman bethune. appearently, he was an important surgeon back in the day.
he also developed a mobile blood-transfusion service in the spanish civil war. blood-transfusion? spain? 👀
there's also a scottish surname, beaton, that sometimes pronounced as bethune. it belongs to a medical family lived in scotland in the past.
it's quite a coincidence that we saw beth last as a nurse, and then michonne chose a surname that has connections to multiple people in the medicine field in real world.
also, in season 5 or 6, tara confuses denise's name with dana.
denise, who has to become the official doctor of alexandria, is the first dana we've ever heard actually. maybe beth also has to undertake the role of a nurse or a doctor after grady, again.
it seems dana is a name in a few different languages, and they're all related to daniel.
michonne chose the name dana willingly, but denise refused it. michonne lived, denise died. daniels live, others die lol

this is from dead city, season one.
pearlie was protecting the letter from his brother in his boot. if guessed it correctly, the group was also trying to protect beth by putting her body inside a boot.
boot (trunk) of a car lmao
i digged up the name codron a little bit.
i wrote about how different wars might have played role in daryl dixon through all the seasons we've watched so far, and world war ii was one of them.
look at this and tell me you don't see a spider web.
i wrote about the sculpture "maman" here and then these creepy dolls suddenly made sense lol
lucky names 🍀
has anyone talked about this before? hope not.
alba -> she was the chosen for la ofrenda, she somehow got away, so she was lucky.
carl -> carl was shot by otis. however, rick and the others could magically find a farm in the middle of nowhere and a vet. carl was also lucky.
rick -> do i need to say anything? man survived an explosion.
what is the common factor in all these names? they all have four letters. luck has four letters, finding a four-leaf clover is considered as being lucky. i don’t say every character who has a name with four letters is lucky, but there is one other character who most likely is: beth.
shane to rick in season one:

Can't help but wonder if he put his hands on her arms at some point during this hug.
