I have a story.... when I was born, both my parents were together and married. But, when I was 10, my dad left because he came out as gay. At the time I didn't really understand what that meant but I was so happy for him because he was happy and that's all a child wants for her parents. As I got older, I got to know his boyfriend(now husband) better and better he is the easiest person to talk to. I've lost friends over the fact that my dad is gay, quit a job for discrimination because they found out about my dad and thought that I had AIDS or HIV. Lemme tell you, STRAIGHT PEOPLE HAVE IT TOO NOT JUST HOMOSEXUALS. I started going to drag shows with my dad and hanging around more gay people. Yes, I'm a straight, Christian white girl. But, homosexuals are the most sweet and loyal people you'll ever meet. You don't have to worry about not fitting in with them because they will accept anyone. Wanna know why? Because they don't want anyone to feel like they aren't welcome. They get shot down every single fucking day, they do no harm and what do they have? FUCKING SHOT. To think my dad and stepdad could've possibly been at pulse Sunday morning literally kills me. I'm friends with all my dad's friends and some of them were killed and injured by this. Nobody fucking deserves to be killed. No matter what you identify as, no matter your gender, your religion. This fucking pisses me off and disgusts me. I have cried all day and have actually thrown up. No matter if I'm straight, no matter if I'm a Christian, I'll always stand up for the LGBTQ+ community because love is love.
