So basically, I think I’m taking a break like Cib said, but I’ll probably stick around to write the .5s, mainly because I kind of only enjoy writing those chapters, and I feel like there’s a certain attitude that is done with those ones.
We also have a new admin who will be helping Cib write since I’m dropping out for while. I don’t know what she wants to be referred by, but her main is @mystery-mustard . So be nice to her. She might be doing the art too because she can draw very well and better than Cib or me, so there’s that to look forward to.
Apologize to people who actually enjoy reading what we write, since we used to work together, or half and half on it. The style for future chapters might be a little different, but hopefully, it’s okay since there’s still Cib.
Unfortunately I have some sad news. Kitty, @jarraxitty, my co-writer and the main artist for 50 Tints of Black is taking an indefinite leave from the project for personal reasons. She will still do art(although this week didn’t have any). Because it’s just me chapters will be published on a bi-monthly basis instead of the once a week we’ve been kinda keeping with.
Because it’s just me now I am considering looking for someone else to write with me, and may be someone to work on the .5′s seeing as Kitty pretty much wrote those on her own. We had a general direction and plan for the story that you’d have to follow but it’s a very minimal plan so there’s a lot of creative room. If you’re interested at all please contact me through my personal blog @cibisis.
Thank you to everyone whose been with for a while, and welcome to people who are new.
Michael Black was most certainly the favorite child of the Black family. From a young age he far surpassed his twin brother, Roman, in almost everything. Hardworking and dedicated Michael was both his brother’s athletic and intellectual superior. Ellie, their younger sister, was also quite smart but she doted upon Roman which earned her a place behind Michael.
Roman was an outcast. He was clumsy and had a hard time at home. He had a hard time following simple orders and wasn’t even good at basic physical labour. His father tried his best to discipline Roman but no amounts of beatings and verbal abuse seemed to correct the troublesome child. School was no better, he was bullied. He was pale and small and always wore dark clothes and long sleeves to cover up the scars and bruises. While Michael was voted class president in high school, Roman was bullied incessantly.
Ellie always took care of Roman, however. Whenever he got beat she was there to help patch him up. One night, however, Roman’s wounds were beyond her capabilities.
“Roman, what happened?” She asked in shock, the blood draining from her face as she saw Roman’s broken arm. Roman said nothing, just simply wavered in the doorway of her bedroom. She quickly got up and helped him stand as he was struggling to on his own. She led him to her bed. “Why did he do this to you.” Roman pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to her. It was an adoption certificate for a boy, M. Augustus, on Roman and Michael’s birthday.
“Wait… so Michael is adopted?” Roman hesitated before answering, trying to summon the energy to form words.
“No… that’s what I thought… this is what I got for saying that,” he said. “I’m the adopted one, of course… Father said no ‘son of his’ could be as inadequate as I am... his sister died in a car crash on the way to the hospital… father simply changed my…” Roman then passed out from pain.

As I was drying off and Roman was trying to regain his composure from the passionate bath we had just shared someone knocked on the door
“Fuck.” He said under his breath, which earned him a sharp look and the possibility of future punishment.
“Who is it?” I asked, hurriedly getting dressed. He was pulling a shirt over his head inside out and struggled to reply.
“My dad…” he said as I helped him out of the shirt and back into it with the right side out.
“Is that a problem? Are you embarrassed that I’m here?”
“N-no it’s just I’d like if um… you guys met properly at like dinner or something first… I forgot he was coming today…”
“I’m sure it’ll be fine.” I said as I ran a hand through his hair tidying some stray hairs. His father knocked again, harder and obviously impatient. Roman and I hurried to the door and opened it up.
“Roman, what took you so-” he cut himself off when he saw me.
“Sorry dad… I forgot you were coming…”
“Obviously,” he said gruffly as he stared me down. I shrunk a bit in his gaze.
“Hello sir,” I said and extended my hand to shake his “I’m Callie Valentine. Roman’s…” I trailed off not knowing exactly what to say. He looked at my hand dismissively and then began speaking to Roman again.
“It’s good to see your mother was wrong about you being a fag like your sister. We’ll have to reschedule breakfast, however, this is a private matter. I’m disappointed in you Roman you need to be better at managing yourself. Call me.” He said and stormed out of the apartment. The door slammed shut behind him. We stood there in shocked silence for a second.
“I’m sorry… I should have remembered… I’m just stupid...” He walked away from me and stood with his back turned. I went to comfort him and noticed something odd. For a moment I thought he was chewing on his nails before I realized he was actually biting down hard on the tip of his thumb. I pulled his hand from his mouth and realized his hand was actually bleeding now.
“Roman what are you doing?” I asked worriedly as I grabbed a band-aid and wrapped his finger. I looked into his eyes and realized he had been crying.
“I was stupid… I needed to be punished…” he said, his voice barely over a whisper. I sat down and pulled him on the couch, hugging him close in an effort to calm him down. I ran my hand through his soft hair trying my best to comfort him.
“It’s ok Roman, you just made a mistake. You’re ok.”
“No, it’s’ not.” He sharply. I retracted from him stunned by this reaction. “I… I’m sorry… may be you should go.” Roman said, hurt and quite obviously upset. I thought about protesting but decided he needed time to himself.
Kitty and Ellie were making out on the couch when I got home.
“Glad to see you guys are having a good time.” I said as a way to announce my presence. Kitty tried to pull away from Ellie but Ellie made it difficult. After a few awkward moments Ellie finally let her go.
“How was it?” Kitty asked as she stood up and hugged me.
“Did you guys fuck?” Ellie asked. My blush answered her question. “Well I don’t want to hear anything about it. I’ll see you tomorrow Kitty.” Ellie said, kissing Kitty deeply one more time before she walked out of our apartment.
Kitty and I sat on the couch together eating vegan ice-cream and we told each other about our dates. I left out the sub stuff and Roman’s dad but I went into great details about the rest of the night. It felt good to open up to Kitty. We hadn’t had a really good talk in a while and I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed talking to her. We ended up spending the rest of the day in our apartment and just hanging out.
That night Roman texted me.
Roman: I’m sorry about this morning, I don’t do well with disappointing my dad.
Me: It’s fine, are you O.K.?
Roman: Yeah, but I’m meeting with my dad tomorrow... I might not be out of reach for a few days...
Me: Why?
Roman: I might just need some time...
Me: O.K. Roman, that’s fine. I’m here if you need me.
I was really worried about Roman. The way his dad scared him really upset me. I wished I could do something. I went to Kate for some moral support only to get even more bad news. Her and Ellie were leaving to go on a vacation to Paris for Valentine's Day. I was going to be all alone.

Chapter 1: Please Stop Making that Particular Sound Sir
I glowered angrily at the smooth reflective surface of my wall mirror. I was almost perfect if it wasn’t for a small strand of hair that refused to stay in my pony-tail. I gave myself a once over, ignoring the annoying strand, and strolled out confidently in my skin tight dress and four-inch heels.
“What do you think, Kitty?” I asked my hung-over roommate who laid strewn semi-conscious on the couch.
I groaned from the dull pain in my head, and rolled over to reach for the bottle of water that always sat by my bed for mornings like this, only to feel my knuckles hit hard wood. I winced and pulled my hand back and then slowly opened my eyes. This was not my room.
Roman’s ‘playroom’ looked like a geek’s wet dream. It was a windowless room lined with noise canceling foam, without any built in lights. What lit up the room were six massive computer screens that basically covered an entire wall. A computer that looked like it was from the future with a transparent side showing all of its components sat next to a gaming chair with several types of gaming consoles that I didn’t know the names of on the other side. A high definition stereo system was set up on the sides of the room.
“This is my pride and joy,” he said. “I built the computer myself, it’s an-” I stopped paying attention to the statistics he was rambling off after the word “watercooled”. I realized, with astounding certainty, that the man I felt I was falling for was a huge nerd. I was in too much shock to determine how I felt about this.
Chapter 7: That light thing that moves across a photocopier
“What are we doing?” Roman asked confused.
“What do you think we’re doing?” I asked, and after he stared at me for a few moments I sighed. “We’re going to sleep together.”
“Should I uh… change into pajamas?” I sighed.
“We’re going to make love.”
“We’re going to make… OH!” He said and blushed furiously. He quickly ran to his room and I followed after him. He held out a blindfold and handcuffs. “Would you mind…” he bit his lip, “using these?”
Roman woke up a good bit before me. The pleasant smell of vegan oatmeal-blueberry waffles greeted me as I woke up. I smiled to myself. He remembered to make vegan food.
I laid back down, spreading my arms away from my sides so that my body was taking up the entire bed. Last night was… I closed my eyes and thought about the feeling. I thought about how pleasing it was, and how Roman’s first time didn’t really seem like it was his first time…

I felt someone gently shake me awake. It was Roman. I must’ve fallen asleep again thinking about last night, and honestly wishing for more. He held my phone in his hand, and he looked down at me obviously concerned.
“Um… Kitty called… Multiple times…” He glanced away while also handing me the phone.
“Huh? Oh… What did she need?” He downcasted his eyes and muttered something. Even though he tried to hide his face, I could obviously see that his face was reddening. “Roman,” I started, “What did Kitty want?”
He hesitated for a moment. “I… Never answered…” Silence hung in the air for a moment before Roman rushed everything out. “I didn’t want to like… Intrude in your privacy, and make Kitty dislike me or you dislike me. I didn’t want to upset either of you, and like what if I had picked up and Kitty just said something really embarrassing about you and it ruined your reputation? How would you react to that? I didn’t want to make-”
“Thank you, Roman, for doing that. I don’t think that she would’ve said anything like that, but it’s nice to know that someone still respects a girl’s privacy.” I smiled at him and he blushed a little bit.
“Oh… Well… Yeah, of course….” It was silent again, but only for a few moments. “Um, so I finished your breakfast. I made waffles… Vegan ones, of course.”
I stretched before moving off the bed and made my way to the door. I glanced back once and noticed that he still stood by the bed, waiting. I shook my head and walked back over to him, taking his hand in mine. “Come.” I felt him tense up, but quickly gather himself and relax. It was as if he was a lost puppy.
“They were very good, Roman,” I said while smiling at him, placing down my fork. I wasn’t lying either. The waffles weren’t too awful. I could actually swallow them.
He downcasted his eyes again, but I saw a small smile. “Um. Thank you…”
“So… About last night…” I started off before Roman interrupted me.
“D-Did I do something wrong? Were you not pleased? Have you had better? Did you not come?”
“What? No, listen, Roman. It was great. I just wanted to make sure that you were good with that.”
He fell silent. I waited a full minute before he spoke again. “It was my first time, so I guess I didn’t know what to expect.”
I broke out into a smile, “Oh right, and for your first time just… wow. Were you lying when you said that you’ve never done it before.”
He didn’t smile, but he blushed instead.
I suddenly remembered something. “Fuck! I forgot to call Kitty back!” Grabbing my phone off the table, I rushed back into the bedroom, dialing Kitty’s number while running.
After the second ring, Kitty picked up. “Callie?”
“Oh hey,” I said, trying to catch my breath in the process, “Roman said you called multiple times?”
There was arguing on the other end before Kitty responded, “Uh, yeah. I was just checking up on you and seeing if you were okay. Wanted to make sure Roman hadn’t killed you,” she said, the amusement obvious in her voice. I could hear someone with Kitty, presumably Ellie, hiss something along the lines of “My brother isn’t a fucking killer.”
I heard Kitty wince, “Well uh, yeah… Call me if you need anything else, Cal. I’ll be at the house for today and probably tomorrow, so Roman is welcomed to drop you off whenever.” I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by Kitty. “Which by the way… Did you and Roman…”
I smiled, even though I knew Kitty couldn’t see it, and I heard her gasp on the other side. “I knew it! Oh my god I knew it…” She pulled her phone from her ear so that she wasn’t screaming into my ear, “Ellie! I was fucking right!”
Once she had calmed down, I tried to speak to her again, “I’ll text you when I know I’ll be back. I’ll get Roman to drop me off so that you don’t have to come and get me.”
The minute I hung up, I heard a knock on the bedroom door. Roman stuck his head into the room and opened his mouth to speak, before quickly closing it.
“Oh uh, is there something you need?” I asked.
“I filled up the tub so you can take a bath...” he said quietly.
“Thank you, Roman,” I said and started walking to the bathroom. As I walked past him I took his hand. He looked up confused.
“What are y past I grabbed his hand. He looked up confused.
“What are you doing?” He asked.
“You’re going to join me in the bath, aren’t you?” I asked as if it were a foregone conclusion.
Hey so we have an about page now. Yeah, that’s a thing. Also.
A chapter was actually released on a Monday. *gasp*
“On you?” He nodded shyly. I was a bit hesitant but decided to go with it, who knew, maybe it would be a nice change from the usual. “Sure, why not,” I smiled kindly. I decided to take the lead. I kissed him and started to unbutton his shirt. He seemed a bit unsure of what to do and mainly stood there as I took his shirt off for him. I pushed him backward onto the bed and handcuffed him to the headboard.
“I’m sorry if I’m not great at this, it’s my first time being dominant,” I said.
“It’s okay, it’s my first time too.” He replied.
“You’ve never been submissive before?”
“I’ve never had sex before.” I stopped. I was not prepared for this revelation.
“What?” I asked a bit more sharply than I probably should have.
“I’m a virgin…” he blushed.
“Nonono. You’re not having kinky bondage sex your first time. This needs to be special. I’m not going to let you ruin your first time like this.”
“It wouldn’t ruin it,” He protested.
“Yes it would,” I replied as I reached for the keys to the handcuffs.
“This is what I want,” He continued to argue.
“Who is supposed to be in charge here, Roman,” I snapped at him. He fell silent at this as I uncuffed him.
I had a great time, Roman had gone above and beyond trying to please me. Roman was more or less content, although he seemed a bit upset about not being able to do what he wanted to. Roman, worn out by the experience, fell asleep curled against my side. We laid there together and I ran my hand through Roman’s jet black hair. I stayed with him for awhile but couldn’t sleep and got out of bed to explore his apartment.
I wandered room to room in his large penthouse apartment. I found his library first. There were bookshelves that went from ceiling to floor and a large leather couch in the middle of the room. The library was loosely organized by author and series but in no way alphabetical. One entire wall was just comic books and other movies and TV shows. A stack of empty mugs and used plates were stacked on top of one of the ornate but water stained side tables on either side of the couch.
I moved on to a room filled with really weird art, similar to the bee-centaur I had seen at his office. I didn’t stay in this room very long. Some of the pictures Roman had in his collection creeped me out a bit.
I moved on and found a room with a large piano. I love the piano, but I hadn’t played in years. I sat down at it and opened up the keyboard cover. I lightly stroked the keys, wanting to play but too afraid. I hesitated for several minutes. Would I even remember how to play? I decided to go for it. It came back to me quickly, even though I made a lot of mistakes, but I felt confident that those were overwhelmed by my passion for playing.
I could have gone on for hours but Roman ran into the room in a panic.
“Are you okay?” He asked nervously.
“Yeah I’m just playing your piano,” I said cheerfully.
“Have you played before?” He asked.
“It’s been awhile so I’m a bit rusty but I think I’m picking it up pretty well, right!” I replied. He nodded, an expression of confusion on his face, it was probably just that he was tired. “Sorry did I wake you up?” He nodded sleepily. He barely was keeping his eyes open now.
“I’ll stop playing so you can sleep.” He mumbled something quietly but I couldn’t hear him. “What was that?”
“I woke up and you weren’t there…”
“Do you want me to come with you?” I asked. He blushed a bit.
“If you wouldn’t mind…” I smiled at the adorable puppy of a man and took his hand, leading him back to his bedroom to go back to bed.
We laid there and I looked guiltily at the handcuffs and blindfold that lay on the bedside table. Would he really have been happier with those? Even though it was his first time? Was I using him? I was very conflicted by all these thoughts. Roman’s gentle breathing helped calm me. This is what he wanted, I reassured myself. He wanted someone to be in control, and that’s what I was doing.
We’re late. There won’t be a chapter today. We were planning to write during lunch or something at school but we, unfortunately, got some unpleasant people sitting with us. So we’ll have a chapter maybe in the next few days? Also we got caught up in something from Wednesday to Saturday. So there’s that. (Between the two of us we were sick the entire weekend cut us some slack)
