Being Beautiful (TRIGGER WARNING)

being beautiful means learning to count calories, refusing to enjoy the fat filled monstrosities I once loved

learning to embrace the hunger pains, learning not to drown in all the water I drink just to get full

being beautiful means no longer having to suck my stomach in as my lovers hand dances down my body falling to the side when I push him away

no longer feeling oversized in a sweater that is meant to be baggy on me no longer seeing Ana as a disease, but more so as a friend

being beautiful means looking light enough to lift, looking desirable in bikinis, looking at the scale and feeling grateful to see 2 digits instead of 3

looking fragile in more ways than one looking tiny enough that you just may disappear

being beautiful means Ana was once something I never dreamed of having, it means my “I’m not hungry” is a sign of modesty for this shrinking body,

it means the dinner table now looks like a burial ground because id rather be dead than not be thin

Ana was once a weird disease that couldn’t consume me, this figure too heavy, too large but as the pounds disintegrate alongside the food I refuse to eat, I realize Ana is all that I need

Ana was once unattractive, unhealthy, repulsive,

but now she is beautiful now I am beautiful
