sorry man, i just looked that movie up on doestheantdie.com and...let's just watch something else, ok?
I'm getting botox for R-CPD today and I am SCARED
I didn't want to have to go out there more than one day so I'm doing the in-office version, so they'll just be injecting botox into my esophagus (?) through my throat and as someone who does not do well with needles idk how i'll do with this. but they did prescribe me ativan so that will hopefully help
update it was fine, the needle in the throat was honestly worse than expected because of how WEIRD it was... for some reason it felt like there was a long hard lego rotating in my throat and it was super unpleasant. They have to keep the needle in there for like 30 seconds which felt like an eternity at the time.
I was too stunned to ask him to give me a breather before the second one so he went on in and I only lasted a second before I passed out. He said it went great anyways so hopefully passing out didn't interfere with the botox getting where it needed to go. :/ I think the passing out + the ativan really knocked me out and I ended up sleeping the whole car ride home and when I got home, waking up only to eat dinner. Running on like 16 hours of sleep rn it feels... good? yet im still tired. throat hurts also. I'm already getting the food stuck in throat sensation so glad i stocked up on frozen smoothies and protein drinks.
It's weird bc most of the other experiences I've read about this procedure talk about it being painless and barely perceptible even. I'd go through it again in a heartbeat if need be, but I certainly would not describe it that way. It was probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever experienced in my life.
I don't want to speak too soon and am aware that I definitely AM speaking too soon because things are supposed to start getting peak uncomfortable about a week in and I'm only on day 1, but I have a feeling that the recovery won't be too bad

I've been spending far too much of my time trying to learn medieval illumination techniques
one of my first semi-successful attempts at fore edge painting! done on an old paperback of aesop's fables.
