It’s really funny that I thought the opposite. Yes, she sucks as a rep, but at least her story is a story about character who coped with trauma in a way that developed her insanely problematic alter. Meanwhile Mikoto’s story uses it as a quirk to talk about completely unrelated problem also promouting stereotypes that are equally harmful as “serial murderer alter”.
Not to mention. DR is a funny over-the-top game from 10 years ago. I don’t treat it on the same standard as a psychological work that is supposed to talk abt real struggles.
TLTR, can accept magical switching and evil-evil alter next to talking bear and people turning into butter. Harder to do it next to story on miscarriages, child abuse and homophobia in Japan.
