somehow, it felt inevitable.
god.
the depth of sunnyβs feelings for devon still caught him off guard. the first time theyβd kissed, it had felt like a dam finally giving way, every carefully maintained wall collapsing under the weight of something neither of them could ignore. since then, the feeling had only grown, settling deeper beneath his skin until it became impossible to separate from the rhythm of his own heartbeat.
his hands wandered across devonβs chest before finding their way back to the nape of his neck. fingers slipped into dark hair, and a quiet sigh escaped him. he was HAPPY.
outside, chicago hummed in the distance beyond the walls of sunnyβs townhome. light spilled through the windows, bathing the room in gold and amber. the city was beautiful at night, alive and glittering, but sunny barely noticed it.
his attention was ENTIRELY fixed on devon.
he paused for a moment, simply taking him in. the softness of his expression. the warmth in his eyes. the way he looked at sunny as though nothing else in the world mattered. god. a grin tugged at sunnyβs mouth when devonβs hands caught lightly at the fabric of his shirt, hands trembling. the gesture sent a rush of affection through him so fierce it almost hurt. the shirt was nearly ripped off β sunny could buy more. he couldnβt get enough of devonβs eyes on him.
mine, he thought, dizzy with it. not in the sense of ownership, but in the sense of belonging. of choosing each other, over and over again. when devonβs hand started to drift away, lower then, sunny caught it gently and lifted it between them. he pressed a kiss to his palm, lingering there for a second before looking up.
βdevon,β he whispered. the name carried everything he couldnβt quite put into words. βi want to show you,β he said softly, brushing another kiss against his skin, βjust how much i love you.β his head spun. even now, after everything theyβd been through together, it still felt unreal that they were here. the devotion he felt bordered on overwhelming. fierce. unshakable.
βno one else could ever make me feel this way,β he admitted, his voice rough with emotion and want. there was something possessive in the confession, perhaps, but beneath it lay something far stronger. love. pure and undeniable. the kind that settled into every corner of a person and refused to leave.
