i’ve mixed cranberry mikes harder and cucumber lime gatorade into a drink i like to call “the flavor” because like. you drink this shit and your tongue is like “there’s a taste here. you are experiencing a flavor” but when you go to open the door there’s no flavor there. it comes back with an undefined error in the flavor column. it’s the missingno of flavors. it so absolutely and definitely tastes like something and that thing is nothing.
I graduated a few months before the war... I didn't celebrate, I didn't taste joy. Instead, I went down into the rubble, treating the wounded with my own hands, for free, only for the sake of God.
I lost my brother in the war.
His children are a trust in my hands, and I'm still at the beginning of my journey.
I became their mother, father, and support, while we were homeless, without a roof, and sometimes even without bread.
I treat with what's left, feed them with what I can, and hide my brokenness from them... but I'm tired.
Please... don't leave us alone.
Your donation today is not charity... it's life.
For a child trembling with hunger, for a patient dying without medicine, for a family who has lost everything... except hope.
I'm not asking for anything for myself.
Just... help me protect what's left for me.
And if you can't donate... share my words.
Perhaps they will reach a compassionate heart.
May God reward you on our behalf,
Dr. Imtithal

Does the Beagle Autism Scarf (designer/inventor Leo Chao) actually exist, or is it just concept art? I've been looking for it, and all I can see is articles from like a decade ago talking about it, as well as links to websites that no longer exist
not even JRR Tolkien, who famously developed the concept of the Secondary World and firmly believed that no trace of the Real World should be evoked in the fictional world, was able to remove potatoes from his literature. this is a man who developed whole languages and mythologies for his literary world, who justified its existence in English as a translation* simply because he was so miffed he couldn't get away with making the story fully alien to the real world. and not even he, in extremis, was so cruel as to deny his characters the heavenly potato. could not even conceive a universe devoid of the potato. such is its impact. everyone please take a moment to say thank you to South Americans for developing and cultivating one of earth's finest vegetables. the potato IS all that. literally world-changing food. bless.

What Canada’s Recognition of Palestine Means for Global Diplomacy
I enjoyed speaking with Matt Ingram of CHCH News, on Mark Carney's decision to recognise the State of Palestine.
Amidst much bitter debate, critical questions remain unanswered.
Does the Palestinian Authority have any real capacity to meet Carney's conditions before the UN General Assembly convenes this autumn? What will Carney do if they unable or unwilling to comply?
Will the Netanyahu government try to forestall additional countries recognising Palestine, by allowing more water, medicine, and food to reach Gaza's civilians, or will it instead tighten its grip on the region in defiance?
