Old Monk
While on a visit to a monastery on the way to Coorg, India, I found this old lady sitting quietly in a souvenir shop. I quickly pulled out my camera and took this shot while she gave a graceful pose.

Bathtub On The Road
You know how hot summer noon can be in Bangalore. Parents of this child who happened to be construction workers had filled a hand cart with water and made a perfect pool for the kid to bathe and chill out. I think my camera scared him a bit :)

After a tiring session of dozens of shots, I tried making my model uncomfortable with weird poses :D I shut down my flash and parted the window curtains. Evening light gave a soft feel to the shadows and shooting in RAW opened up huge possibilities for creativity.

I am not a big street-photography fan.
When we first planned to take a tour to Kumortuli in Kolkata, I told my friend clearly that I won’t be shooting. As expected, we saw more photographers in the area than the artisans. My friend still insisted that we take at least one or two shots. I handed him the camera and asked him to take few. He is not at all DSLR friendly and watching him struggle, I took the camera and shot few. I am glad that I did click.
Here are the images that I reluctantly shot. Loved the place and their art though!

Long exposure photography
The light trails used to confuse me a lot. Once as a kid, I saw a photograph of speeding cars in the night street and I thought these were some kind of lighting embedded in the city streets. I even looked for such lights on the road during day but could never find a trace.
Then I got introduced to long exposure photography and then the clouds of confusion parted :)
I took few pics a year back and sharing them on my blog now. Looking forward to explore more.
Look Good Project
Everything and everyone is beautiful if you have the eyes to capture. From my early age I was fascinated by cameras and photography. I used to toy around my dad’s Alfa BW classic and when I could get myself a Kodak film camera, my happiness knew no bounds. I spent hours on learning photography both at my college and later online. It’s time to give back.Let’s look gorgeous. Collaborate, share and spread everything beautiful.

Don’t Give Up. Keep the struggle alive!
I had nothing specific in mind while taking these shots. Once done, I showed these to two of my friends. Both of them had different interpretations.
Interpretation 1:
“These images depict the struggle of a person who in spite of weakness and darkness, keeps the struggle alive. The fire in the hand is a symbol of ‘not letting it go’ attitude.”
Interpretation 2:
“This could be a struggle of a smoker who wants to quit the addiction but unfortunately cannot. His life is already surrounded by darkness but the voices inside his head won’t let him quit that easily”
What is your interpretation? Please leave your comments below. Suman Krishna
