I was like " I know there is no romantic subtext but I really need rontoto to be canon to reestablished the equilibre in the force ( the force being Sherlock Holmes adaptation and shounen manga ) "

And then I read Ron saying that people would think there were a détective couple if their body where found like that

And then I read volume 8 where the Dr litteraly asked Toto if he was Ron's boyfriend

And now I'm reading volume 9 and there's this new character who called himself Ron Best friend and partner and Toto is so jealous

So there is hope

i knew it. i knew in my heart deep down this whole time that that this case would be a big fuck you to the entirety of auberge fire case and what it meant for ron as a character because now what? elliot isn't dead. so what does this mean? that he, too, stood by right alongside romi holmes as ron was targeted in the bloody field trip case? why didn't he intervene back then if he was keeping tabs on ron? and he let his kid believe he was brutally murdered in front of him at age six and just never bothered to tell ron he was alive this whole time? that's psychotic. and don't tell me it's for a reason like him being away would've made ron safer because ron has never been safe from the moriarty family regardless of whether elliot was there or not. and did elliot actually kill all the people on the island to protect ron because that would still make him a murderer. so the whole thing we saw in auberge case where ron learned that his father changed his ways after he met his mom just goes up in flames. elliot telling ron to choose his own path, all of it. what was the point? the new chapter did excel at being shocking. don't get me wrong. it's a huge twist. and it's left me reeling. but i feel disappointed that it essentially renders previously established events in the story obsolete because the weight of the truths ron learns during the auberge fire case is now severely undercut.
