I have been hit with triple happiness and cannot contain myself.

1. I found this radio talk segment that Yunho did during the last Japanese CB and IT’S SO GOOD. This is the most natural and fluent I’ve ever heard him speaking in Japanese. (He’s generally quite good, but often there’s, I think, a self-consciousness that makes him sound hesitant.) He’s keeping up with the host’s pace and topics and it’s such a comfortable conversational feel. It’s delightful.

2. I can understand the whole thing!!! I just threw it on my car speaker and listened as I drove to work. So I’m very proud of myself for my own Japanese skills.

3. I found out about this because he’s doing it again!

I only got partway through, but some interesting tidbits I learned so far:

He started learning Japanese before debut and has both had a Japanese tutor and used online classes.

As dance leader and speaking of the group as a whole, the thing they focus on for choreo is the energy and conveying energy on stage.

The group usually practices choreo for 9 hours—3 hours each over 3 days—before shooting a MV. The host was impressed because his group is closer to 15 hours—still 3 days, but 5 hours a day—and he attributed it to having a larger group (11 members).

There was also gaming talk—his rank in Valorant, his taking his consoles with him when he travels, etc. He said he got into gaming from a young age because his dad games!
