Would you consider opening a group?

i don’t have nearly the amount of time on my hand to open a group. not saying admins have to dedicate their lives to running a group but that’s not what im here for.

the role hogger has been given many opportunities to change and they never do. they get kicked out and lash out then beg for the group(s) to let them come back. so there’s no popularity at all like the other anon mentioned lol.

let’s step away from the role hogger for a moment to really just focus on the popularity aspect. you really don’t think there is a popularity contest amongst the writers? those with more aesthetically appealing graphics, texts, etc don’t get favored more than those without?

I understand your frustrations but what is this achieving? What have you and the people you’ve talked to done for the community? There’s been multiple, MULTIPLE groups open the last few months and shut down within a week because of zero effort, the effort you keep preaching about. Don’t shit on groups that are still open and active with lovely writers because you’re one of those people that don’t hold conversations and post every 2-3 days to avoid the activity check.

my goal isn’t to single handily change the community outlook but bring forth and allow others to speak on why we think things are the way they are now. it may seem pointless but me opening myself up to be a voice for everyone who wants to see this community do more is already more than most have done recently. i literally just came back from a hiatus in hopes to see this group scene at least in a similar place to what it was in when i left but instead i came back to well…. nothing. my intent isn’t to shit on any group but encourage us all to band together. quick flip groups that come today and gone tomorrow been part of the community since i been here ten years ago but it’s the disconnect in the community that bothers me it has nothing to do with admins.

People join groups with intentions of only shipping or pick and choose their interactions. There’s no saving a dead game from people being two faced, promising to be welcoming and friendly then aren’t. The ones who shout the loudest about being nice are the fakest and get smoke blown up their ass by other friends in their clique.

i don’t disagree with what is being said here in fact that’s the point i was making in the last post. we lost the plot as a community where the main focus was character development and ultimately, having fun. it has turned into a glorified beauty contest with those who win get the plots and interactions where everyone else is left to rot in existence. but is there nothing we can do to fix this or are we just wasting air?

hello! although there is a good chance that the anonymous message was sent from said role hogger, it is important to look around the community and realize there may be some truth to what was said after all two things can be true at the same time even if the person delivering the message is a problem themselves.

It’s become a popularity contest and if you’re not apart of the cool kids, you’re 1) going to be ignored in groups that’ll force you to go inactive and ultimately released or 2) you’re not going to be accepted into a group because the popular kids don’t know you/don’t care to know you.

Bonus: You’ll be accused of being someone you’re not. One person role hogs and it’s like the whole community is being punished for it.

as a community why are we so quick to make assumptions and judge? we used to be able to coexist within multiple groups with different muses and never had to worry about if you was going to get connections for your muse. we never worried about who was playing who nor cared about just bubble writing. somewhere along the road it became a popularity contest and when admins started making groups to put others out of commission instead of embracing one another the community was forced to divide and pick sides. i talked with multiple different writers over the past twenty four hours since coming back around and it’s hard to ever fathom that we are all collectively killing the rp genre we love the most.
