“So, why’re you yelling at me?”

Roy had to exert real effort to stop himself from rolling his eyes, to not break the stern eye contact.

“I’m not yelling at you, Fullmetal. If I was yelling, you’d know it.”

The kid just sat for a moment, staring at him. An equation he couldn’t solve, because there were too many unknowns.

Variables that knotted Roy’s gut, that made him sick to his stomach every time his mind drifted from the numbing distraction of the paperwork and lingered for a second too long.

A necessary conversation is had.

it's truly insane how many issues you could assign Ed from things stated in canon. obviously the daddy issues which I personally love to harp on. the guilt complex. the fear of becoming something he never wanted to be. the guilt complex again because OH BOY. you could very easily show Ed as depriving himself of physical sensation because it's his fault that Al can't feel anything. you could slap an eating disorder on that boy and it would make sense because it's his fault that Al can't eat anything. self harm and suicidal ideation? uh yeah. canon. literally episode five. that boy can fit SO many issues

after five and a half years on ao3 (Help), it's happened! about twelve hours ago, one of my fics cracked a thousand whole kudos!

so, thank you to everyone who has read my stuff, still reads my stuff, has been there since the early days, new friends, and everyone who reads one fandom but not the others. this is genuinely the only thing in my life in a LONG time I feel is worth celebrating.
