Finally making my first post!
Compilation of ONE page comics ft. Steph and friends.
While talking about Steph's intellect, I need to talk about how she's actually shown to be great at investigating and detective work with no training, and she would be a great detective if given a shot (and shows this in her Batgirl run a bit) but people don't notice because
1. dumb blonde stereotype + general misogyny
2. They think failing Batman's fucked up little test that one time means she's a bad detective when actually she just trusted him not to be a dick, which is always a mistake
3. They think the gang war thing means she's dumb, completely ignoring how many times Bruce's implementation of his plans have caused accidental mass deaths in a similar way, or how impaired her judgement was by desperation.
(And, from a Doylist perspective, they had her fuck up because they wanted to kill her and say it was her fault, there was no consideration of whether it was in character or whether it even makes sense that Steph would be given access to the super secret plans of a man who wouldn't even tell her his real name.)
4.Because she's never complimented for her skills in universe-- that's because she's never complimented for literally anything. (This improved slightly once she became Batgirl, in fact the only example of someone praising her for her strategy is Bruce saying she did well when she passed his fucked up little test (second edition) in her Batgirl series.)
But there are several times she shows investigative prowess despite having NO instruction or training, and is met with a dismissive comment (Tim's sarcastic "Nancy Drew has clues"" rather than y'know, "good job locating that bad guy lair", is maybe the most obnoxious one. You wish you were as good as Nancy Drew, Tim) or told to go home, yet when Tim, Dick or Bruce do similar things they get told what good detectives they are.
someday I'll do a post with panel examples. Bookmarking that in my head.

These are my personal favorite Arcana Illustration swap redraws. I have more, but you can find them all on my Instagram. Some of these are really old!
I am basically redrawing already existent illustrations, but by swapping all of the characters between them. This is still on-going, and if you have any swap request, mention the character and the illustration in the comments!

Steph portrait in your timeline
Put her in coach.
need me a fic where the Bats meet a Steph who was actually supported in her early vigilante years and actually got to be Robin for a significant amount of time and was acknowledged as Robin
I need Steph to be reminded of all her hurts and to be proven a good Robin if people had only given her a chance
I need Cass & Tim to acknowledge that Steph has NEVER been weak, and that Bruce fucked up—that they fucked up.
I need Duke & Damian being pissed at how badly she was treated, with Duke asking why Bruce supports some young vigilantes and puts down others.
I need Dick & Babs wishing they had reached out to her sooner. Wishing they had seen her for more than the ghost of someone else.
and lastly
I need Bruce to confront just how awful he was. I need his guilt complex to kick in full force. And I need him to mourn what never was.

'Stephanie Brown was the Robin, Batman deserved but didn't need'
I do stand by the notion. Unlike Jason, Tim and Damian, she WANTED to be Robin, it wasn't handed to her, for Damian it was basically his birth right.
Her relationship with Batman is just really complex. What he did to her was wrong, but you should punch yourself if you think he doesn't care about his Robins, CAUSE HE DOES, HE'LL DIE FOR EVERY ONE OF THEM. No, he isn't her father and she isn't his daughter.
Stephanie was the Robin Batman needed because she was his reflection in many ways. Her stubbornness matched his, her sense of justice reminds me of Batman, her anger towards criminals and her sympathy towards victims all represent what the Batman Mantle stands for. However, she is her own character.
Stephanie Brown is a mirror but she is herself. Her stubbornness that of Bruce, she's hardworking just like Cassandra, her strong sense of justice matches that of Jason Todd and her energy to make everyone around her comfortable matches that of Dick Grayson.
What makes Stephanie herself is her flaws. Her stubbornness, anger, people pleasing-ness, her such strong sense of justice, how she loves so hard that it ruins her but it still doesn't stop her from loving, her emotional behavior but that's what Stephanie is!!
She does a golden retriever energy and I do believe that, she's my comfort character <3 and I think that aura contrasts that of Batman. I'm not justifying Bruce for what he did and her death could have been avoided but she was meant to be a vigilante. In another universe where she gets the Batman Mantle, I will assure you that she would be the Batman, Bruce couldn't be.
I am so sick and tired of people revolving her character around being a golden retriever or a love interest of Tim Drake and/or Cassendra Cain!
In short,
Stephanie Brown was the Robin Batman deserved was because she was his own reflection, no one could've made him see his flaws that way she could have because she's his flaws personified (this isn't an insult), sure he didn't need her, but the timeline of Stephanie being Robin is very special to me. I know what he did was wrong, but I do know her death was something that had a major effect on him because he failed another child, another Robin, another person who looked upto him. I do believe that Bruce cared, but that care didn't overshadow his harshness on her. I do believe Bruce regretted how he behaved when she was Robin, and I do believe he went to her grave every week to give flowers not out of guilt but out of care.
Should Stephanie Brown forgive him? No. However, will she? Yes. Stephanie Brown is nothing if not someone who believes in second chances.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, I'm NOT normal about Stephanie Brown :D
I hope this was enough to answer your question on my previous post @a-bad-case-of-the-stephs
