No Smash character has ever seen Black Knight (with the exception of Ike) or Shovel Knight with their helmets off. When asked to take it off, Black Knight just scoffs and ignores them while Shovel Knight can never seem to lift his helmet off his head.

Shovel Knight fan here, just putting it out there that is a running theory that shovel knight is actually a fish person

This is a Sprite that can be found in game, while it isnt shovel knight themself, rbey share every detail (aside from the head) eith him. When interacted with they say "Oh hey how's it going? Ahh, it's nice to get that helmet off sometimes!" The theory has been acknowledged by Yacht Club Games, but not confirmed. So with that being said, Shovel Knight could be fish.
