ummm... yes, I can see why some people don't like the whole "Snatcher is dad" thing, but!! why must people keep on trying to make others stop headcanoning what they want to headcanon? it's not hurting you, and as long as they're not forcing you to agree with them, it doesn't matter! you let them like what they want, and like what you want! (please understand I'm not saying you do anything like this, I'm just ranting out of the blue)

Oh man it's been a while since I checked my ahit blog. Well, my opinions have mellowed out over time, but my past self disliked "snatcher is dad" because of canon interactions, the lack of spotlight given to other characters because of it, and some fanworks that i will not name that depicted the relationship reminded me of my friendship with someone older than me who would vent without my consent- idk why it just does right now, while i do prefer ANYTHING ELSE than "snatcher is dad", i'm less vehemently against it and more slight dislike over it. and I specifically dislike "snatcher is dad to hat kid and bow kid", but snatcher is definitely more father-figurey to his minions. hat kid and bow kid are probably more of his annoying younger relatives that he still cares about somewhat. still an asshole to them, though, but like in a funny way if you catch my drift.

and mj’s core goal ingame pre-cut was to kidnap hatkid and thus cant be parent,

and we don’t want a parent character that killed/nearly killed hatkid multiple times,

we have to find a mentor character for hat kid that has treated her well, is also gender ambiguous, and is also an adventurer…

Literally all he says in the ending has nothing to do with hat kid. He said "this alternate reality stinks" and that seems to me to be the only reason he wanted to get rid of Mu. AND in the end when he clung onto hat's ship he didn't day shit about "don't leave us! We love you" he said "let's sign another contract" so she could be put through more hell

Don't fucking come at me either about "oh he's just being a tsundere!!" I cannot express how fucking uncomfortable that makes me now that i'm thinking about it. That's digging even more into excusing what he did to her. I feel like. Saying "he's just hiding how he really feels about her" is just sweeping literally everything under the rug. If I had someone put me through hell and try desperately to get rid of me and someone pat my head and went "he's just toughening you up :> he loves you he just doesn't wanna say" that sounds SO MUCH like people using the "you know i love you <3" excuse for their shitty behavior. Don't make me have to compare a fictional ghost to some people from fucking Frienebeanz do not

Don't come at me about Conductor or anyone either. The characters aren't remotely comparible and a bond between cond and hat doesn't seem to be as glorified as snatcher and hat and that's the part that makes me :/ i have examples from my own life of people being shitty and saying it's what's best for me when i can think of clearly much better things they can do.

And no. Don't you dare try to come at me with "but he's been through so much :(" stop. No. I honestly do not care about his backstory in this case that never excuses hurting anyone

Dhshxhxjsidj just the entire dynamic the fandom built up between these two actually makes me very uncomfortable when i actually look into the behavior expressed in the actual game and not what the fandom wanted to shove into canon. But hey i'm no subcon fan don't listen to me
