"Ah, the good Captain." Doom's tone of voice is even, diplomatic. He leans forward from his seat and raises his brows beneath the steel mask. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

"Suppose you’d know that first hand wouldn’t you?" He cracked a grin from underneath his mask as he watched Doom. While he didn’t exactly look it, his whole body was ready to act the moment his Spider-Sense flared up. Sure he looked like he wasn’t taking the walking hunk of metal seriously, but he knew Dr.Doom was as dangerous as they came.
"Arachnid actually. If you’re going to use overused threats, at least make sure they’re correct." He paused for a moment before raising a brow underneath his mask. "And what’s with always referring to yourself in the third person? If you’re trying to make yourself sound more threatening then you should know it kind of doing the opposite." Raising a hand to the side of his mouth he dropped his tone down to a whisper. "It sounds kinda silly really."
Doom couldn't deny that the insectoid agitation's ability with wordplay was impressive. Quickly leaping onto small nooks and crannies in the verbal clash, making minor glancing blows along the armor of Doom's willpower. However, it was still merely the prattling of one small individual. From his attitude to his very symbol, Spiderman was an analogue for the weak, incompetent masses that so looked up to someone they felt could very well be one of them, to encourage as well as disguise.
However, to judge him solely based on his appearance was a matter that would result in his demise, and while Victor von Doom was a man to indulge his ego with the knowledge and understanding of his own personal invincibility, to deny the potential threat of anyone would be opening himself to the possibility of hubris. Just as Spiderman held onto the awareness of Doom's capabilities, not out of fear, but of acknowledgement of Doctor Doom's very well-earned skills.
"Doom speaks in this manner for posterity. For it is with the masses that must be kept aware of my power and status that I often find myself. But we are already entirely aware of the capabilities of Doctor Doom, are we not?" Beneath his mask, Victor's smile broadened. "While I could very well speak in a first-person discussing myself, my position as a leader demands that von Doom be referred to as an entity even I must view objectively for the sake of Doom's people." He shrugged dismissively.
"Doom would not expect a mere citizen to understand the expectations a sovereign owes his people."

"Well, well, if it isn’t the walking toaster oven. You here to make my toast? Because last time I checked I can do that myself."
Brows raised beneath his metal mask as von Doom observed Spider-Man and his rather poor efforts at banter. "If you're looking to be burnt, I believe that would be the job of the Human Torch." He smiled beneath his mask, the impenetrable scowl continuing to mask his amusement while he spoke. "Doom does not waste his time on mere insects."
The friendly competitive banter Victor and Tony had on occasion was stimulating, and Stark took great enjoyment from it. Mixed with a dash of irritation that the guy was so damn smart and consistently being a thorn in Tony’s ass. But when it came to conversation, little was better than with Von Doom. Again, when he wasn’t being a massive thorn in Tony’s ass.
“See I’d tell you all about it,” Stark raised his brows, a hand idly tapping out a rhythm on the reactor. “but it’s classified, technically. I think.” While it was true to an extent, as Tony had suffered some issues with patenting over things he’d spoken about and had shown in the media, the goal was to be as difficult as possible at any given moment. And that part wasn’t necessarily hard. Though it was very doubtful Doom would actually be all that interested in tricking Tony into talking about any of his projects. Victor could probably bust the door down to Tony’s lab any sunny Wednesday afternoon and figure it out himself.
And get a black eye in the process probably.
“And you, still getting stuck in Camelot every other week?” Tutting, he tilted his head. “Time travel doesn’t treat your luck kindly does it?”
Victor's brows rose in mild interest as to Stark's attempts to play coy with his information. The man was as far from frugal when it came to Stark Industries technology -especially that of his own design- as Doom was lenient in his own hatred of Reed Richards. He could recognize easily Stark's typical efforts to get under Victor von Doom's skin, a factor both literally and metaphorically impossible when discussing something so trivial as Stark's own creative designs, as ingenious as they were.
Camelot, however... Camelot was a curious subject to bring up, and one that Victor found himself more genuinely interested in discussing. Had it really been so long since he and Stark had wound up there? He supposed that, in a linear sense of time, it was. But then, this was hardly a discussion about the linear flow of time. "I have had little issues with time travel, Stark. If anything, I owe your unnecessary involvement for the entire reason the two of us were sent back there." He chuckled lightly. Stark had struck surprisingly close with the jest that Doom himself might go back to Camelot, though his reasons for visiting were, indeed, of a less ambitious nature and more toward the occasional desire for carnal satisfaction.
"And because you continued meddling, as I recall, you not only managed to interrupt a legitimate business transaction, you managed to look as though you were the hero by the end of our affairs." Doom let his hand clench into a light fist. "I suppose that is what I should expect, though. You do so love to make yourself look the knight in shining armor when the dragons you've wrought are from your own doing, don't you?"
pickamuse started following you
Ah. And who have we here?
A curious collection, indeed.
Managing fine, no thank you. And uh- how’s that tin foil skin treating you? Living up to your expectations I’m sure.
Flippant, disinterested. Tony Stark hasn't changed at all since Victor had spoken with him last. That same attitude and almost scatterbrained way of acting that gave so little indication to the sheer intelligent force beneath. Victor hadn't realized how much he'd enjoyed his conversations with Stark. It was always a fun mental game they so played. Tony's strike at his flesh was as though it was a deformity, when in fact it was almost proof of his superiority, like a fine marble statue that could put Zeus himself to shame.
"My flesh treats me well enough. It might not be as protective as your suit, but I cannot deny it has much better options when conducting electricity and brute strength are concerned." His hand rose, the metallic alloy that composed his flesh almost shining as he flexed his fingers and allowed some small amount of electrical discharge to dance from finger to finger. One corner of his lip quirked upward into a light smirk. "And how is your suit, Stark? I can only imagine a man with your intellect is constantly updating it with new ideas as they come to you." His head turned back to Stark, paying him the full attention he so deserved.
A lesser man than Doom he might have been, but there was no denying merit where it was due after all.
Ah, Stark. You seem to be doing fairly well. I trust your company's new CEO is managing Stark Industries well enough?
ooc: Ahh, there we go. A nice, fresh start.
