@a-frozenheart
Doug sat, his fingers curled around the marble lip of the fountainâs edge between his knees, in the courtyard of the castle and stared down the path to Hogsmeade so hard his eyes were itching. His wand in one hand and a quill in the other, his figure rocked slightly from side to side as he swung his legs â but still, his concentration never broke. I am waiting for the people, he thought to himself, in a very determined voice. If I wait and I watch, then the people will come.
Doug, of course, meant the other students. It was very lonely at Hogwarts without them, and the Hufflepuff was bound and determined to make friends this year. They just needed to get there first.
And then, there they were. Or one was. Over at the start of the path, trudging towards the school, was a silhouette that Doug bolted upright to see better. The hand without his wand started waving wildly, as fast as it could, because Doug had to be sure they saw it.Â
âHi there!â he called as loud as he could. He took a few steps forward. He practically vibrated in place. âHi! It is summer and you are back and I am Doug and â and hi!â
Elsa felt like she was practically dying in this heat. Most of her summer had been spent within the cool confines of her house, only venturing out to go grocery shopping and other necessary activities. Today, however, Elsa had a meeting with Professor Ambrose to discuss the upcoming school year. They couldâve met in Hogsmeade, but the little town was surprisingly crowded today and the school proved to be a much quieter place to have a proper discussion Hogwarts was quite the distance away from her home, but after apparating a couple of times (she wasnât very good when it came to rather long distances) it only took her a few minutes to get there. Unfortunately the boundary around the school meant she had to hike her way up the trail that lead from Hogsmeade to Hogwarts with the sun burning down on her.
The heat combined with the slight nausea all her apparating had caused was not a good mix. By the time she got to the top of the hill Elsa was ready to fall onto the first bench she spotted. However. before she could get inside, an old classmate of hers began waving frantically in her direction with the widest grin sheâd probably ever seen. No one was ever this happy to see her.
âHello, Doug,â Elsa gave him a small, but genuine, smile. She was head girl last year which meant most students knew her name, but Doug was one of those people she didnât expected to have remembered who she was, let alone her name. âWhy are you here? School doesnât start for another two weeks.â
I spent my life learning to feel less.

Robin shrugged. âIâm confident in everything, love, that doesnât mean it wasnât a legitimate question.â A smirk spread over his face at her request. He had a feeling that the same tactic he took with Tim in order to get him to give in to his use of âloveâ wouldnât work on this frosty girl, but he was willing to try. âSure, sweetums, plenty of nicknames where that came from.â
Elsa turned away when he smirked, unamused and rolling her eyes a bit. Why werenât there more guys in the world - or in England at least - like Denahi or Bobby or PJ? They were kind and humble and didnât push her when she was annoyed. She was at the top of the second stairs (the bookshelf full of texts on charms was in her sights) when the boy she still couldnât recall the name of called her âsweetumsâ and she just about froze. Not literally of course - there hadnât had any major flare ups of her magic since prom - but good god that was even worse. Elsa semi-glared down at him, âMy name is Elsa, call me by my name or donât address me at all.â With that she stepped out of his view and began scanning over all the books on charms. Elsa hoped he wouldnât find her interesting enough to continue bothering and just leave her alone already.
Sagittarius: Am I cool, or what?
Capricorn: What.
Sagittarius: I said-
Capricorn: Oh, no, I heard you.

                       And itâs getting worse now
âWell, yes, of course you are. Â My point was that you simply getting a book doesnât make it obvious that youâre a head girl.â Â Robin shrugged, a teasing smile spreading over his face. Â âFor someone in Ravenclaw, love, I figured youâd catch on to that one.â
Elsa pursed her lips, annoyed he kept trying to get the best of her. âI was only answering your inquiry as to what I was doing. You sounded confident asking if I was the head girl so I didnât correct you, I thought youâd take that as your answer. I suppose you didnât catch on.â She quickened her pace a bit, hoping he wouldnât follow up the stairs. âAnd please refrain from calling me âloveâ.â It was a common nickname in England, but Elsa found it far too affection - especially coming from a stranger - nonetheless.

Ravenclaw: Excuse me? I lost my friend, Gryffindor. Can I make an announcement?
Store Clerk: Of course.

Ravenclaw: Goodbye, you little shit.
The (Accidental) Confrontation || Wilbur & Elsa
keepmovingforwards:
If Wilbur was being honest with himself, he wanted to do anything but wait for Anna with Elsa being the only person around. Then again, him waiting around for Anna the way he is was already him not being honest with himself. He was trapped. If he was rude to Elsa, Anna would ask why that was the case. If he stayed, Elsa might grill him about their relationship. Nothing could ever be simple, could it?
He nodded his head finally, smiling nervously. âYeah! That would be niceâŠI mean, Merlin knows how long itâll be. You know how Anna can get when it comes to the craft store! Not that itâs bad that she takes her time there, itâs just she really likes to make sure she has everything she is going to needâŠâ He forced himself to stop talking. He was just going to stop doing that from now on.
Elsa didnât know how Wilbur was going to respond. He looked conflicted and even a little scared, which meant he might run off with a quick âbye!â or he might come inside just because he didnât want to come across as rude. Elsa wasnât a very good hostess, but Wilbur wasnât a stranger so maybe it wouldnât be awkward? Oh who was she kidding, he was always uncomfortable around her.
She opened the door wider for him with a faint smile, âYes, she certainly does take her time.â Once he was inside she closed the door and instinctively locked it. Alright... so what now? Out of habit she nervously fiddled with one of the fingers on her glove, âWould you like something to drink? Itâs terribly hot outside today.â She thought she remembered her mother offering a drink to people who came over.
robbinghood:
Robin blinked, taken aback slightly by the frosty nature of the girlâs response.  âWell, love, weâre not in Hogwarts, youâre not wearinâ a sign that tells me you are, and as far as I knew even mere, ordinary students were allowed in Flourish and Blotts⊠So nope, not really that obvious.â  He didnât mind the challenge that her attitude posed, but he couldnât resist returning at least some of the sass that she served him.
âWeâre in a bookstore, obviously Iâm getting a book,â Elsa sighed and started up the wooden staircase that led to a section where she knew sheâd find books about charms. âWhy else would I be in here?â

Slytherin: How we doing?
Ravenclaw: Same as always.
Slytherin: That bad, huh?
Gryffindor: Just bring Ravenclaw to me.
Hufflepuff: Well, he locked himself in the bathroom.
Gryffindor: Just tell him I said something.
Hufflepuff: Said what?
Gryffindor: Anything factually inaccurate.
