I've been places and I've seen things

that is infact a cool knight sculpture yay

sometimes historical movies get the armour so wrong it actually physically pains me

but it's not only movies, just generally any media that has armour in it, historical, fantasy, all of it

(these apply mainly to knight armour, also I am not an expert on this topic, just an autistic guy with a hyperfixation)

here are some things about armour in media that I noticed that bug me:

wrong time period, pretty common mistake

not wearing a helmet

people with armour being "unable to move"

using the great helm for everything, like no matter what time period it's supposed to be, no matter what kind of armour, they always go for the great helm

nonsense armour that is completely made up, absolutely zero protection

nonsense armour that is vaguely based on actual armour, but is oversimplified and will limit a lot of movement, this one is very easy to spot in live action, because well, the actor cannot move properly...

for some reason having completely bare arms, or generally any bodyparts, I get if it's a cartoon or something, but when it's something more realistic... ehhhhhh

arrows going through the metal plating, not between, no, it goes through the metal

beheading a knight in full armour???

killing someone in full plate armour using a sword, through the metal plating

someone, somehow, putting on full plate armour without any assistance

forgetting the existence of chainmail and under-armour

not having any padding in the helmet, none

fake rivets and hinges on pieces that should be movable but are actually one part, this bothers me more than it probably should

everything about armour for women in games, not all games, but oh so many...

yeah whatever, listen to an idiot knight ramble

I need full plate armour so bad...

I would make some, but I do not have the time, skill, space, tools or patience for it

I would buy some, but I don't have the money

I think I could make some armour out of eva foam, I think that could work

it won't be the same as the real thing, but it will still look nice

just you wait till I get the motivation for it

(oh, all the cosplay tutorials I have watched in the past many years will finally come to use)
