Why you shouldn't ask for pronouns

Yet another thing that has come from enbys being let in the trans community, is asking for someone's pronouns when you meet them. I can't help but cringe when someone asks me for my pronouns. Here's why:

1. In most cases, it's obvious, so most of the time you're going to get the obvious answer. It's unnecessary and uncomfortable in most cases. Specially to trans people who've already gone through their transition, it may make them feel like you're basically telling them "hey! you don't pass".

2. If the person who you ask this is trans but closeted, there's no good outcomes, specially if you can tell their agab. They'll have 2 options, misgender themselves or out themselves to someone they don't know. So not only is it just weird but you're hurting the people you're supposedly helping with this question.

3. Lastly, if a person actually doesn't use the pronouns you'd assume from how they look, chances are they already know, they understand that you might get them wrong, correct you and move on.

So yeah, to me this mostly just reads as either going up to someone and saying "i can tell you're trans" or just ignorant ally ship that does more harm than good.

Cis people shouldn’t experiment with hormones.

I’ve been seeing people say that cisgender people who experience no gender dysphoria have the right to experiment with hormones and surgeries like srs and top. They do not. First of all, it takes up valuable resources used up by actual transgender people that experience SEVERE discomfort from their birth sex. The waiting lists for hormones are getting bigger and bigger and there is no need for cis people to add to that. Number two, If you are cisgender and transition you will get dysphoria. That is the fact. There is no uwu gender is fake lets all be fairies and rainbows. Only trans people benefit from transition and saying otherwise is dangerous and misleading. Doctors know better than 14 year olds on the internet.

Autistic people understand gender.

Making it seem like autistic people need xenogenders because they "don't understand gender" is fucked up. By saying this you're infantilizing autistic people. autistic people can understand gender, so stop using us as your scapegoat. This is especially bad because people will say things like "Xenogenders are for autistic people because they don't understand gender" and then say "anyone can use xenogenders even if you are neurotypical"
