it does suck that the government defunded PBS but it's also so fucking funny that now that they don't take uncle sam's slavery dollars they're running videos like "How america's foundation was built on genocide"
no more being polite about it fuck the USA
Oh cool so the CDC is just doing a media blitz to lie the groundwork for weed becoming illegal again in many places huh okay
Treating 2026 CDC reports as anything but heavily political and incredibly biased is genuinely ridiculous. Why would you just believe them? Are you not paying attention?
I had to go to the hospital because I ingested a fuck ton of mould spores from some bread I didn't realize went off and then couldn't eat anything for a week. Like I was taking tiny sips of clear water and my body would instantly or within 5 minutes reject it.
I have never had these problems, as a chronic cannabis user, I literally ingested mould that was growing in my guts…..
But the doctors ALL blamed it on my cannabis use.
I got pamphlets and guides on how to curb my 'addiction', and they stressed real hard it doesn't matter if I used it for medical reasons, if I wanted it at all when I wasn't on it, it must mean I am addicted and need to stop.
I am 100% certain that my INGESTING MOULD issue was written down as "Cannabis Emesis Syndrome" and would get wrapped up in the data to suggest that emergency room visits among cannabis users for cannabis use is becoming higher.
Like... it's fucking biased reporting that is going to fuck a lot of us over.
Despite having an active infection, not having even used cannabis in a month or two because I was actively recovering from a surgery, I was told that it was likely CES (even though all the pamphlets they gave me said CES would ease if you didn't use again "for a few days to a week"). And my only advice when I was discharged (after staying the night, being flooded with antibiotics and hydrated via salin drip), was to cut out the cannabis. I ingested a fuck ton of mould spores that made me sick, but because I also am a chronic cannabis user because of my debilitating nerve pain and PTSD, it will have been listed in the records as CES because that is what the doctors decided to focus on. Because it's the big new scary thing.
Fuck, the surgery I was talking about before that I was recovering from was gallbladder removal - and before that my own doctor tried to blame CES for what was in fact a very inflamed gallbladder. Once I got over the rough recovery from that, the symptoms my doctor wanted to associate with CES *went away* because it wasn't CES it was an actively inflamed gallbladder that was causing the problems.
Like, people talk about fad health trends in pop culture readily enough but I think we should also turn this focus towards doctors themselves because holy shit this was a fringe theory that everyone latched on to and started reporting cases of - regardless of whether or not they fit the description.
And like, might CES be an actual thing? Sure. But it is as prevalent as everyone is freaking out over? I absolutely fucking doubt it based on my own experiences.
you think so much. You could think about a door for a hundred years and it would stay closed.
Am I your special little boy
Not particularly
This is a really fun post so far

Seventeen-year-old Inuk Helen Konek walking into her igloo in Arviat, Nunavut, in 1949.
Photographer: Richard Harrington
girlkaramazov mentioned looking up Konek who was born as Helen Agaaqtuq in May 1932 in a tupiq on the eastern shore of Henik Lake. Helen's father was Piqqanaaq Agaaqtuq and her mother was Paalak Agaaqtuq. She had three brothers: Nanauq, Pukiluk, and Kinaalik As a child she accompanied her brothers and father on caribou hunting trips, including to Ennadai Lake in the Ahiarmiut's territory.
Helen was photographed in 1949, aged 17, by Richard Harrington as part of a series taken while he was travelling around the Arctic. The photograph was taken in ᑭᖓᕐᔪᐊᓕᒃ (English: of big hill).
By 1952, the Agaaqtuq family were living close to the Padlei trading post. In 1953, Helen started living as a couple with James Konek, the son of a storekeeper in Arviat. They both lived in Arviat in winter and Barren Lands area in the summer. The 1950 Caribou Inuit famine caused Helen's mother Paalak to die in 1957, the rest of the family survived on fish, rabbit, and ptarmigan. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police forcibly displaced the Konek family in 1960 from Padlei to Arviat.
One of Harrington's photographs of Konek entering her igloo was widely shared online in 2019 after her journalist grandson Jordan Konek tweeted it. Konek is an elder, and lives in Arviat, Nunavut
