Lately, there’s been a constant ache in my chest for the past, for all the different roads and lives I never got to live. It’s unsettling how a moment from twenty years ago can still hold such gravity. I never realized I was carrying it until I looked back and saw that most of my childhood has dissolved into static. But that day? That night? It’s etched into me, vivid and permanent, like a scar I can never remove from my heart.
