Crown of Ashes (4.3)
Yes, spoiler, shoo.
What do you mean there's no cutscene of us beating Cyran in the first phase of the duel? Lilith, I will gladly rewatch that multiple times.
The chat before the hot boss fight-I mean, evil boss fight says it all. "As long as I still lose to you, it will never be over. I cannot lose." You could offer Cyran the crown at this point and he will just throw it over his shoulder. It really makes one wonder: how much of Cyran's ambitions, all this new world order and chasing power, stems from his need to beat Merlin?
Who is Cyran without this need?
We don't know, because the moment Cyran lost to Merlin, he completely loses it. He can't lose to us again; he can't live in our shadow again. Cyran has been living in the shadow of being second to Merlin and this is what has been driving him all along. I'm starting to think all those ambitions are Cyran's coping mechanisms.
But, I have more questions: Why is Cyran so traumatised by being second? Insecurities and fears do not exist singularly, or without comparison.
Anyway, Cyran stabs himself for this power boost. Right in the heart too, may I add. With the new crystal in his staff, since he gave the last one to Gervan. Speaking of Gervan, after he was beaten, he did come back in mostly human form. It doesn't look to be that way for Cyran. Unless the abyss has top notch healing skills to close that hole in his heart. Sink our ship, will you, Lilith.
My inner demon demands to be out now and say that the boss form of Cyran is really hot. Wings? Bigger form? The way he focuses on Merlin even though the abyss has taken much of his humanity? No matter what happens, Merlin remains the centre of his world. How romantic, if only Cyran wasn't trying to end us.
Do you think Cyran only wants to beat us, or would he kill us to beat us for good?
Back to the scene.
Not sure what Lilith was trying to achieve here, but the way Merlin wraps the chains around Cyran? The way Cyran grabs at Merlin? Very nice. To no one's surprise, Merlin still beats Cyran. Call it plot armour or a being not from the Tree of Life.
I have questions. Why when Gervan is beaten, he gets to stay in this realm? But when Cyran gets beaten, he sinks back into the abyss? A price to pay for using power from the abyss? Did Gervan got treated to a cheap version?
Anyhoo. Cyran sinks, and then Merlin runs for him. Maybe Merlin's idea of defeat is chains of eternity (hehe) and a cushy jail like Contess. Maybe Merlin doesn't want to see Cyran lost. Maybe, it is just in Merlin's nature to rescue what they can.
Then comes the look in his eyes. Cyran thought it was all over, and got shocked that we came for him. By the way, the size difference in their hands here? Peak.
Cyran sees us as a hero, but never thought that we would include him in the people that need saving too. Does he not see himself being saved, or does he think Merlin wouldn't bother? Why does he keep misunderstanding Merlin? Why does he keep projecting his insecurities onto Merlin to make them a monster?
And then of course Lilith just has to break our heart with the brief moment Cyran returns our grip.
Whether it stems from a survival instinct or an acceptance of Merlin, we don't know. We won't ever know. Because in the next moment, Cyran's demons have taken over once more, and Merlin is once again the monster to him. The offer of help is pity in disguise, according to him. It is Starshower all over again. Cyran has never moved on since that day.
Oh well. At least if Merlin ever sinks into the abyss, Cyran will be the first to welcome them.
Now that I have gotten all this off my chest, I can sleep soundly. If there is a (5), it won't be about Cyran anymore, I promise.
I'll reach for your hand as you sink into the abyss but you're not nerdy enough to understand.
Damn at first I was like hahahahahaha lol
But then I went like 😶
I actually hate Gilbert so much to the point i UNWILLINGLY love him
Wasnt a single day that I didnt think about the fact that Keith immediately jumped to considering himself to wear a dress. Not to mention his only concern is not being beautiful in it 😩💕
what a charmer
In honoir of clavis sequel i decided to draw my favorite NPCs from Clavis main route!!
my only criticism of hades 2 so far is that out of BOTH games, ALL the romanceable women are the same type - Woman Who Wants to Kill You. and i get it, those are fun, and clearly mel and zag have the same type in women, but COME ON
my perfectly normal Merlin who easily passes as some cruel god hanging around his homestand at night
im back in the fucking building again
Pretty little thing ✨️
Fem!Arcana MC: I can explain-
Fem!Obey Me!MC: Your game has TWO women you get to ROMANCE? Mine has one and she isn't even romanceable!
Court of Darkness MC: Literally there are only two sane women I regularly interact with and NEITHER of them are romanceable! The devs only give us crumbs!
Tokyo Debunker MC: None of the women in Darkwick Academy are romanceable!
Fem!Yuu: How do you think *I* feel in this all-boys school? None of the ladies even go here!
Fem!Summoner, Kate, Emma, Mitsuki: You guys have sprites (more than one sprite) for female characters?
Anybody else experienced the Asra to Kuras pipeline or is it just me.......
