Got A Secret?
Ali’s memorial service was incredibly sad. It was hard enough to go to another one of these things, but this one was so final since Ali’s body had been discovered two days ago. As the girl’s were leaving, Aria couldn’t shake the feeling she was being watched. After her little tryst with Ezra, well, Mr. Fitz, and she had received that anonymous text about him, she had an eery feeling that she was being watched at all times. The four girls congregated outside of the church, hugging each other and trying to find some comfort in one another. Aria let her head rest on Spencer’s shoulder for a moment as they talked about going to the Rosewood Grille to unpack and finally let Ali go.
Almost as if on cue, every single cell phone in the circle went off. I’m still here bitches. And I know everything. - A. They read it out loud, in unison, and completely mortified. “What?” Aria breathed out as she looked up at her friends. Maybe she had been gone for too long to call them her friends, but right now, she didn’t know what else to call them. And if they all got the same text, then they couldn’t be the ones doing this to her, right? “What the hell does that mean?” she asked, looking at Emily, then Hanna and then Spencer. Aria looked up to Spencer. The girl was brave and intelligent and had been one of Aria’s favorite people in the world. They had a special bond.
“Let’s go to the grille. I can’t process this anymore without a diet coke.” Aria told the girls, completely exasperated with the whole situation. “I’ll drive.” she offered, nodding her head in the direction of her car and linking arms with Spencer. “This whole thing is a nightmare... I don’t even know how to deal with the fact she is actually dead. I mean... I knew she was dead, but, well, you guys know what I mean.” Aria yammered on as they strolled towards her car. It felt like every person in Rosewood was watching the girls walk to the car, including that creepy detective that would not leave the girls alone.
