So believe what you want to believe about forces of nature, spirits of the forest, ect but there was something about the forest this day. From the moment I started the trail my mind felt like it was in a fog. Even though I had been on this trail several times over I kept losing track of the trail and I would find myself feet off trail. Weirder yet, I kept getting pulled in the same direction no matter direction I had turned to get back to the trail. I spent barely any time in the woods that day before deciding to leave. Of the time I was in the woods that day about three quarters of it was spent attempting to relocate the trail without wandering too far off. I have not been back to this trail since.
