My mind is my biggest rival; both pushing and enabling me
I've always been told that old habits die hard
But no one told me that my old habits will be the death of me
Flashbacks in my head play louder than any alarm
Bringing me back to being that seven year old insecure child
I was born into a life of great opportunity
However, no one told me the combatant to my happiness was sacrificing my sanity
Pounding my fist against a jagged brick wall until they bleed
Tears slowly fall as I release every last bit of my energy
It's hard work being pulled until you break
People look at me see someone that can stretch and withstand
But all I want to do is collapse into a million pieces
No one tells you that the hardest part of life is living
The endurance makes you capable, but hinders your affection
My heart tells me to love, but my actions shut that down
Forcefully blasting a bullet made of ice into my veins
I am the product of my environment.
The struggle of being the youngest, is also being the oldest
The glue that keeps everyone together
My happiness is set at disregard to accommodate those that cannot
Empty of emotion, because family means sacrificing small pieces of yourself; until there's none
Blood is thicker than water.
Menthol is more valuable than air.
Alcohol is the motivator.
