EDKV, Dahleez , KRPKAB, JNDSD, Krisnadasi are some of the shows I see people are talking about. Do you watch any of these? and if you do could u tell me the summary?
1. Ek Duje Ke Vaaste: Basically, if you like the concept of childhood/teenage bestfriends turning into lovers, you’ll like this show. Also, it isn’t just a love story, i feel like that needs to be clarified? The love story is the center of the show (I mean, it’s titled “Ek Duje Ke Vaaste”) but there’s so much more that branches off the love story; I personally love that the writers throw out subtle progressive thought processes- it’s nice to see a show show women, especially independent, in a good light; if you’ve seen the promos, the show is about “Self Respect vs Love” essentially, so it’s pretty interesting. As for summary- i won’t go into detail bc i do want you to watch and be surprised :p - Shravan and Sumo were great friends during their childhood/teenage years, except Shravan was a “nerd” , and Suman was too concerned about her self image (there’s a reason behind this) and only hung out with Shravan in secret. Because Sumo was so into her image at school, there came a situation where Shravan needed her most, and she refused to help him/talk/acknowledge him. Shravan tried to share his feelings too, and when he asked her to prom, Suman took someone else. Shravan finally decides to leave India and agrees to go to study in London (his dad was telling him to go to London for 2 years and he kept denying bc of Sumo). Fast forward 10 years, Sumo realizes what she did/how she was, was wrong and she’s ready to apologize to Shravan when he returns, and does so, but Shravan says he’s “moved on “ and this creates a new tension. Shravan gets back at Sumo for what she did 10 years ago, and then later (Shravan is a lawyer), Shravan helps Sumo in a case and things tone down between the two, they talk about things, and become friends again. You’ll also see that Shravan has a rather different view on women- he finds them all to be selfish etc (you’ll also know why that is once you watch), and currently, the track is dealing with this and ShraMan’s friendship + Shravan’s Mom (who is quite important). Also, this show’s soundtrack is BOMB. The title song is everything!! Check it out!2. Dahleez- I can’t give a summary so much, im still behind, i catch scenes when i can. But it is a little slow, the story took a while to kick in, BUT, the chemistry between the leads is too good. Some people hate that the female lead, Swadheenta, didn’t really give any attention to the male lead, Adarsh, in the beginning, though he was always behind her, and frankly i love that she didn’t. Usually all you see is the girl also reciprocating feelings when the guy does, but you don’t see a girl who cares about her career more than a guy who’s been after her/trying to take her out/pursue her. 3. KRPKAB - still need to finish catching up, butttt I do like Sona/Erica! Sona is the best thing about the show. Her character is so good. It’s taking me a while to warm up to Shaheer Sheikh/ Shaheer and Erica’s pairing. I kinda find Shaheer bland, and maybe that’s because I find that Erica outshines in each and every scene - literally the girl is too good (well except her Bangla- her character is Bengali- I’m a Bengali myself, and I have to rewind almost 90% of the time to get what she’s saying, but that’s just me lol). Also, the show kinda got me annoyed in the first 10-12 episodes …. the whole mama’s boy/ mom blind over her son/ daughter gets no credit for what she does bc of the son thing kinda gets to me … but it tones down, so ive heard. I still gotta catch up, so i hope my views change/ i open up to the two leads.4.JNDSD- I’d recommend this second!! 16 episodes, and honestly so nice. It gives this filmy vibe almost- it’s well executed and shot really nicely. My fav thing is the male lead’s character sketch- he isn’t an mcp (thank the lord) and he’s very well educated/socially aware which i think is so important to showcase on tv these days. My other fav thing is the natural chemistry between Atharv and Vividha- they’re very cute! 5. Krishnadasi - okay, i’d be lying if i said this show doesn’t have drama. It has high end drama, i kinda skim thru all of the drama, but the leads are so good. I catch their scenes whenever i can- their bgm is so nice! Also, i recommend Bahu Hamar Rajni Kant- Definitely a favorite currently. Such a laugh riot- It’s about a robot and how she becomes this adarsh bahu, but it’s so funny- there’s no typical ott drama; every single actor/actress does a great job. i hope that was helpful!
