it’s pretty amazing how a world that has used nazis as the Default Evil in everything from movies to comics to video games for the past 70+ years suddenly can’t call them as they see them
We’ve made them into a trope, a caricature, something that could only exist in fiction. Meanwhile we make a big deal of congratulating ourselves for defeating anti-semitism in the forties and racism in the sixties, so accepting that they still exist outside of clearly crazy isolated individuals is both disturbing and dissonant to our imagined reality. For honest-to-God NAZIS to be not only still around but influential and dangerous is simply unbelievable. No matter how much the facts disagree, that mentality is going to keep a strong hold until a person sees direct proof that they are going to suffer for it.
you know what?? Fuck. You’re absolutely 100% right. Goddamn. I’m furious.
All while harassing and abusing Jewish and Rroma people who have time and again said not to do this and talked about why it is a problem.
And you all stayed quite all while Jewish and Rroma were sent hate mail and harassed by neo-nazis and we talked about all the time.

I haven’t posted to this blog in a long time, partly because I’ve been so busy studying and working that I haven’t had time to update and partly because I felt a little constrained by the single topic I had allowed this blog to become.
So I’m back. I’m going to try to make an effort to post on this blog again but maybe with a broader range of topics - or, at least, people - than before. I hope you’ll stick with me in that. If not, thanks for your time and maybe catch you around.
And in keeping with the refresh, I’ve changed the url:

Yeah the url still makes no sense and has no relation to the content but we can’t have everything in life, can we? ;)
