The sound woke you from your rest, making you snort and blink in the artificial darkness. You held your breath and flicked your ears, waiting to hear the sound again.
There is was, there was something down on the main floor of your hive shuffling about. Unfortunatley it was too quiet to make it out properly. You sighed; you were going to have to kill whatever it was before it decided to kill you.
You pulled ourself out of your recuperacoon, wiping off as much slime as you could from your hair and body, then summoned your bow from your sylladex. This should be a quick hunt so who cared if you were naked? Sometimes it even helped you cause there was nothing quite as bewildering as a slick, naked, adult troll notching an arrow to and impressively large bow aimed at your face.
that split second of bewilderment saved your ass more times then you could count. You padded out of your room, ears tilting and trying to pinpoint the sound. you skirted around the bright strips of sunlight where your blinds didn’t cover your windows well enough; as long as you stayed in the dark you were almost invisible.
Fuck it was hot, it was so fucking hot! Eirene ran as fast as she could, trying to find some sort of shelter, something! The burning Alternian sun was beating down on her, and luckily she'd had a towel in her modus, which was now thrown over her head and shoulders, but her hands and forearms were still getting a good amount of sun. She could feel them burning, slowly, painfully.
She gave a hiss of frustration, she needed somewhere to hide! Suddenly, a little ways off, she saw a hive, and though she knew it was pretty much suicide for her to go in there, since she had no idea who lived there and if they would welcome a random violetblood intruding or not. Most likely not. But she had no choice, it was either take her chances with the resident of the hive, or burn to death in the sun. Without a moment's hesitation, she adjusted her path and ran toward the hive.
The moment she got to the hive, she wrapped the towel around her hand and punched in the nearest window, not even bothering to clear it of shards before she dove through and landed with a roll, ending up on her feet. She quickly pulled her rifle out of her specibus and held it at the ready, her eyes darting around, though they had a hard time adjusting from the blindingly bright light outside, she still watched for movement. When she saw none she lowered the weapon and quickly set about using her towel to cover the hole she'd just created in the window.
Eirene let out a sigh, she was safe for now. Suddenly she heard a soft noise from an upper level and her rifle was at the ready once again. Looked like it was time ti confront the owner of the hive. Fucking awesome. She crept silently through the hive, glad her eyes had adjusted finally, so when she came to the staircase, she knew what it was. Quickly and quietly, she slid back behind a wall, just the muzzle of her rifle and a sliver of her face visible to anyone who came down, though she'd be hard to pick out in the dark.
