Olivia couldn’t recall the last time she’d seen Abaddon clean up, which was half the reason she had made the comment in the first place. There was a difference between clearing up after yourself and just cleaning down in general, the latter of which never really seemed to be in the brunette’s interest until now. It usually ended up falling to her or Elijah, because Abaddon was usually busy trying out some incredible trick and Ben… Well, the man didn’t exactly have the best attention span for the more boring aspect of the job. Still, the dysfunctionality seemed to work in their favour more often than not.
At the explanation given, Olivia simply nodded. It wasn’t as though it had ever seemed to bother the woman before, but she knew first hand how easy it was to hide what you were really feeling. “Yeah I get that. The boss sure is a stickler for perfection.” Renee really wasn’t that bad of a person to work for, but she’d be lying if she said she hadn’t been chastised enough times for the same kind of thing when she first started working there. “Not really, just bored.” She shrugged. “But I was wondering… Can you remember anything from that escape room after Kiara started walking up to the Drobot guy?”
It was rare for Abaddon to get caught up in her head. Usually she focused her energy distinctly outward, even if the destruction she wreaked often found ways to rebound within, often without even taking the time to think of the consequences. For all that she could appear to be all talk there was hardly a moment she wasn’t at least setting something in motion. But the sickness...the cure...had gotten to her more than she wanted to admit. She’d gambled with the fates of nations without a second thought but her own existence was the first time she’d felt the true pressure of high stakes. And she had cast her bet on a wheel that was still spinning.
But something in Olivia’s reaction to her answer made Abaddon’s attention shift even more on to her. As she pulled herself out of the conflict in her head back to the present it was apparent that the other girl had noticed the flash of her cards showing. Still Olivia apparently - thankfully - had more pressing matters on her mind. Kiara. The name made Abaddon tilt her head. Didn’t she mean? She had to know by now. “Oh I remember, I assume you left before the dinner show portion of the evening, then?”
