healthy coping mechanisms

Recovery doesnāt make you the person you were ābeforeā. Recovery allows you to craft a whole new you with healthy coping mechanisms - donāt be too self critical if people tell you youāve changed
Butler is basically the most emotionally healthy character in af?? Heās constantly narrating how he needs to process his emotions in situations and how his bonds with his friends affect him. Meanwhile thereās also artemis āif I throw myself into work and toil to the point of physical exhaustion I can avoid thinking abt my problemsā fowl and holly āI use violence and morbid humour to avoid deepening my friendships with anyone and risking loosing another person who is dear to meā short?
STOP TELLING PEOPLE WITH BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER THEY ARE MANIPULATIVE WHEN THEY ARENāT
STOP TELLING PEOPLE WITH ABANDONMENT ISSUES TO JUST TRUST YOU
STOP TELLING PEOPLE WITH POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER TO JUST LET GO OF THE PAST
STOP TELLING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THAT THEY āDONāT LOOK DISABLEDā BECAUSE THEYāRE SEEMINGLY PHYSICALLY OKAY
STOP TREATING ANXIETY AS IF IT IS SIMPLY NERVOUSNESS/SHYNESS
STOP DEMONIZING PEOPLE WITH PSYCHOSIS
STOP VICTIM BLAMING PEOPLE TRAUMATIZED BY ABUSE THEY COULDNāT ESCAPE OR CONTROL
STOP TELLING PEOPLE WHO ARE ISOLATING THEMSELVES AS HEALTHY A COPING MECHANISM (WHO WOULD OTHERWISE END UP HURTING THEMSELVES OR OTHERS OR BREAKING DOWN IN PUBLIC) THAT THEIR COPING MECHANISM ISNāT HELPFUL
THE LACK OF RESPECT THAT ILL PEOPLE RECEIVE ON TOP OF ALL THE SHIT THAT COMES WITH HAVING AN ILLNESS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS
RESPECT PEOPLE WHO ARE ILL
LEARN TO SUPPORT THEM
BE A GOOD FRIEND AND STOP BELITTLING THEIR STRUGGLES
The Threat of Self-Sabotage
Iām writing this post write now (shocking, I knowā¦sorry Iām so quiet) because a lot of good and/or exciting things have been happening in my life, and after experiencing the extreme conflict and resolution of a several-year-long downward spiral, Iām experiencing something like an upward spiral for the first time in my life. Everything seems to be in perfect harmony/flow. Things just work themselves out. Iām feeling so well physically, emotionally, mentally, spirituallyā¦.but at the same time, Iām freaked out about it! Iām low-key panicking. I canāt even pinpoint what the beliefs are behind this underlying fear. It feels like maybe I donāt think I deserve good things. Or as if so many good things at once implies that something horrible has to happen any second, or that thereās a catch, or itās not real. I donāt know what it is. But itās completely uncharted territory and I find myself simultaneously elated and anxious. Do you guys ever feel like youāre on the verge of messing things up for yourself just to be more comfortable? Difficulty is what I know. That things should feel easy and natural like this feels somehow wrong, like itās a trap. But I want to look into my own eyes and shout,Ā āItās okay! You deserve this! Enjoy it! Embrace it!ā
What silly creatures we are.
Roughly 146 million people suffer from at least one body-focused repetitive behavior, such as obsessive skin picking or hair pulling. Why isn't more treatment available?
Good dogs.
