Having trouble sleeping was the worst. Every sound, every movement, every distant sound of something lurking on the island… It made it impossible to try and sleep.

You couldn’t tell if Ananas was asleep or not, at least not until their voice rumbled softly behind you.

“Are you having trouble sleeping again, my treasure?”

They laid on their side and you could feel their gaze burning into your back. You huff, turning to look at them with a tired frown.

“Yeah. Sorry if I’m keeping you awake, Ananas,” You couldn’t help but worry about keeping them awake with your restlessness. “If you want, I can sleep elsewhere—“

To which, Ananas Dragon Cookie simply grunts, taking you into their arms. The feeling of their arms wrapped around you, a rough texture but a movement so gentle, made your muscles relax a bit more. The warmth in combination with the gentle pressure was nice. One of their clawed hands rest on your head gently stroking through your hair as they plant a soft kiss there.

“Would you like me to sing to you?” Their voice was soft as they asked, the vibrations of their speech rumbling against your scalp.

“That would be nice.” You mumble the response, already feeling sleepy from the physical affection.

They sigh into your hair, causing some of it to rustle, then take a deep breath as they begin to sing to you in dragontongue.

“Onh cruin digh ark ihn life,” It was the song the Mango Tribe usually sang, though their voice was much more soothing when they sang it so gently to you. “Ihn wyit breadk nmoc ahn…”

They continue to stroke through your hair as you felt your eyelids grew heavier, one of their hands moving down to stroke your face gently in soothing motions.

“Ahn tilthend ihn douh daond…”

Their chest rumbled against your back as they sang, and finally, you felt yourself drift to sleep.

They continue on to finish the song, smiling to themselves when they realized you had finally fallen asleep.

“Rest well, my dear.” They give your head another soft kiss before allowing themself to rest as well.
