Like everyone expects, Todoroki would be the prince of the fire nation. Fire Lord Enji met Rei, a waterbender and they fell in love. Things soured once he decided to rage war with the rest of the nations. Typically, Todoroki wouldn’t have the throne but because his siblings are waterbenders and the eldest son, Touya is presumed dead, he became the crown prince.
Todoroki doesn’t agree with the war at all. He hates being stuck at the palace all day, both his parents fearing he might be killed in the war in some way. After learning that his brother wasn’t dead, simply exile and imprisoned at the Northern Water temple, he sneaks off to go and find him.
During this journey, he discovers you. As a fisher, you have access to a boat and are able to properly leave the country. Paying you a large sum of money and begging, you agree. The two of you head off on your long journey to the Northern water temple.
At first, Todoroki is really quiet and distant from you. Being raised the way he was, he doesn’t understand a lot of things you’re doing. With you by his side, exploring the different intricacy of different cultures, and your empathy to everyone regardless of what nation they are from, he finally discovered that he should properly end this war once he returns home with his brother.
He won’t immediately confess to you—he is determined to achieve his goals after all. But once, peace has fallen on the land, and he legitimately gets the throne, he knows exactly who he wants to rule it with.
Growing up, Midoriya always thought he was a nonbender in the outskirts of Ba Sing Sae. He worked on a farm with his mother, until he was unfortunately torn from her as the fire nation began to invade the Earth Kingdom. In a heat of pure rage and determination to get his stolen mother back, Midoriya entered the Avatar State.
While in the Avatar state, Midoriya talked to the previous Avatar, a waterbender named Toshinori Yagi but known to many as All Might. All Might explained he would have to learn the four elements and stop the fire nation from invading again to instill peace he once fought so hard to achieve. Midoriya agreed, confused on why he was chosen in the first place.
Midoriya discovered you, watching you waterbending in a small river. Captivated by your movements, he mimicked you trying to get a clear understanding of what waterbending entails. You ended up discovering him, splashing him with water in the process as he pleased, and apologized for intruding.
Although he was a bit of a stalker, in the beginning, the two of you got close and you became a member of Team Avatar whether you realized it or not. At first, you didn’t believe he was the avatar but seeing him be able to earthbend small pebbles convinced you.
Midoriya was very awkward, realizing he liked you more than a friend. Little huffs echoed from him watching people flirt and eye you up, his freckled cheeks going red whenever he was extremely close to you—he was just too shy to say anything to you about it though.
Before fighting Fire Lord Enji, he confessed to you, explaining if he didn’t tell you, he would have regretted it all of his life. You two share a kiss before he runs off to defeat Enji. Thankfully, he was successful, properly restoring peace in the land. His reign as Avatar will forever be in legends.
Bakugou was a part of the fire nation growing up. He had an interesting ability to blow things up with his hands instead of the combustion bending everyone knew about. Rising up in the ranks of the military, Bakugou became a general tasked to find and kill the Avatar.
On numerous occasions, Bakugou thought he would’ve defeated Midoriya only to lose every time. The anger of losing reached a breaking point when he accidentally blew up his own ship with his abilities. Fearing exilement, Bakugou ran and defected from the fire nation.
He still hunted Midoriya, blaming him for the reason he was banished until finding a state of All Might. Growing up, Bakugou always admired Avatar Yagi. He was strong…just as Bakugou wanted to be. In a moment of deep thought, Bakugou realized All Might’s legacy was now Midoriya. Instead of hunting Midoriya, he was determined to join Team Avatar to restore peace.
You were Bakugou’s betrothed in the fire nation. Hearing he defected and was the enemy of the state, killed you inside. Fearing your own imprisonment, you left hoping you would meet him again one day.
By pure luck, the two of you were reunited in Ba Sing Sae. He cried in your arms vowing to never scare you like that again. He was so thankful you were alive and okay and hoped that you could be proud of him for the man he is becoming.
Kirishima grew up in the Earth Kingdom, as a proud earthbender. He was always found outside training and improving his technique. Because of his poor upbringing, he opted to earn some money through the underground fighting rings. He was fairly popular there until people realized he was winning too much.
Because gambling had soured since Kirishima’s debut, they chased him out leaving him cold, alone, and broke once more. He traveled throughout the Earth Kingdom, begging and asking for food. He hated this lifestyle, but he refused to go through a life of crime.
He managed to sneak off in a boat, hoping the place he would land would bring him better opportunities. Once he arrived, he tried sneaking away on the island only to be caught by you. You managed to pin him down, yellow fan inches away from his neck. He gasped, not used to the feeling. You, a Kyoshi warrior managed to pin down one of the best fighters in the Earth Kingdom.
Learning his story, you let him do his thing on the island. He always visited you, and talked to you, thankful for your kindness and gratuity. The two of you trained together and at times, he would leave flowers in places he knew you would find them.
The two of you dated for a while, in peaceful bliss until the Fire Nation invaded the island. Both of you fought hard, trying to get the troops to leave. Although the two of you were injured, you managed to succeed. The island was forever grateful for the two fearless earthbenders.
