and on that note something fucking weird is happening to fanfic writing. why are you asking people if they would read idea x if you have several thousand followers and your fics get thousands of clicks within hours bc the fandom is that hot rn? why are you promoting and crossposting and making up fake hate on your fics for attention? are you writing bc you’re passionate about a story/character or are you writing bc it’s an opportunity to instantly get insane amounts of attention as long as you do it in the right fandom

ok this is a niche thing but all these fic writers on twitter posting screenshots of people being insanely rude to them… some of these messages were obviously written by the writers themselves lol

like i was on tumblr 10 years ago i can tell when the anonymous hate is written by the blogger themselves so they can fish for compliments and support
