They weren’t really going anywhere specific
Just riding around town after getting the day off per Bishop
They would have rathered spend that free time with you of course, but you were busy with your own plans
And so they had decided to just chill and pass the time until you were done
You had told them that you had to run some errands and then meet one of your girls to go shopping
They had been cool with that, fine with you getting out and spending time with a friend
They missed you, sure, but it was only for a few hours
Then they would have you back to themselves
So they made the best out of it, stopping at the taco truck for lunch and then wasting time
They’re going slow through town, no rush, and that probably why Coco notices you so easily
He smiles to himself, the way he always does whenever he puts his eyes on you
He’s elbowing Angel who redirects his attention to where Coco is pointing
And Angel is getting that very same smile on his face too
They stop at the red light and watch you take a sip from your drink as you sit outside in the corner of the restaurant
They’re both looking at you with the same love and affection that they always do
But it fades away quickly as they watch some man come up to the table
Young, tattoos up and down along his arms
You standing and embracing him tightly
The hug lasts a bit longer than either of them would like
And they’re also not a fan of how he places his hand on the small of your back when you both go to sit down
“Yo, who the fuck is that?”
Coco shrugs, not having an answer to Angel’s question
“No fuckin’ clue.”
The light is green now but Coco is still at a standstill, someone beeping the horn from behind after a few seconds
He throws up his finger and then turns left instead of going straight to go home
Parking across the street in an empty spot along the curb where they can still see you
The men are watching you like a hawk now as you take another sip of your drink, laughing and smiling with the mystery man that they already want to jump
But it’s when he sits down and you scoot your chair closer to him that they really feel their blood pressure rising
“The fuck is she doing? I thought she said she was gonna be with one of her girls?”
Coco nods, taking a long drag from the cigarette between his fingers, his eyes not looking away from you despite Angel staring at the side of his face
“She did say that.”
“But now she’s here with some motherfucker getting lunch?”
Coco doesn’t respond to that, simply taking another drag
Knowing that with his time as a sniper, he could absolutely make that shot from all the way over across the street
He forces down his blood thirst for the moment though and finally looks at Angel, nodding his head once in your direction
“Call her. See what she says.”
Angel doesn’t have to be told twice, pulling out his phone and calling you up, staring at you as it rings
They both watch as you fish your phone out of your purse and look at the screen
You answer and despite Angel wanting to play it cool, he can’t
“Hey. Where you at?”
“I’m at lunch with my friend.”
He’s not a fan of the vagueness and looks over at Coco, lips pursed
“Your homegirl that you were going shopping with?”
“Mhmm. I’ll be home soon.”
Both men are fuming and they’re staring at each other, trying to figure out how to respond when you speak again
“The foods coming so I gotta go. I’ll see you both when I get home ok? I love you.”
Redirecting their eyes to you, they see that the food is in fact not there, because you haven’t even ordered yet
Coco is speaking up now, his voice low over the speaker
“Where you eating at? We’re gonna pull up.”
Angel nods, both men hearing you stutter
“N-no, don’t bother, we just got quick appetizers, we’ll be done by the time you get here.”
“That’s fine, we’ll just chill with you guys.”
There’s silence on your end for a few seconds before you sigh, coming clean
“I’m not with her. I’m with an old friend from high school, he works for a bike shop. I’m trying to get you two something for your bikes but you wanna be so damn nosy that I can’t even get around to showing him what I want to get you. So since you made me ruin the surprise, just bring your asses over so you can explain it to him and I don’t get the wrong thing.”
They feel bad then, having trusted you but still being suspicious, and now ruining your surprise
Angel sighs and rubs his face in embarrassment, handing the phone to Coco who apologizes for them both
“Our bad, mami. We just wanted to know what was going on.”
You huff and they watch as you cross your arms like a brat, even the friend chucking at you
“We’ll be there soon.”
“You don’t even know where I am, how do you know you’ll be here soon?”
He doesn’t answer you, simply tapping the horn and watching as you look up, eyes landing on the two trouble makers
