Hi all, sorry for not posting for a while, will be posting soon about my experiences as a graduate.
Site walk in 32 degree heat on no sleep! Love getting out of the office. Out to check the extents of bandicoot habitat to ensure we don't disturb them when my design goes out to construction!
Finally a Graduate!
Hi guys, girls and everyone in between! After 6 long years of working hard, supporting myself by at times working 2 jobs, overcoming subconscious doubts in my capabilities due to being exposed to gender stereotypes my whole life, and the constant battle with depression, I am officially an engineer! Today watching the proceedings I really noticed the huge disparity between females and males in STEM fields. Don't EVER discourage your kids/family/friends if they dont "fit the mold" of their chosen profession or keep them sheltered from things that are too difficult. Don’t ever think you are incapable of achieving things you want. Today a man in his 60s obtained his PhD and a very young handicapped man (presumably cerebral palsy) his Bachelors degree. Anything is possible! ✌Looking forward to the next chapter!

Henry David Thoreau
An upcoming Hollywood film will highlight NASA’s black, female scientists.
These women are an inspiration, I am glad their story is finally being told. They are examples of truly brilliantly gifted female geniuses. The world needs to know their story in order to help break down the existing negative barriers of racism and sexism.

Wow!
“When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole. We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do his will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket.”
-Nikola Tesla, 1926
I love Tesla! Ive nearly finished his autobiography. Such a brilliant person.

Aerial view of the straightening of the South Branch of the Chicago River near Twelfth Street. Huge projects are nothing new in Chicago, where the flow of the Chicago River was famously reversed to protect the purity of Lake Michigan waters. Photo taken May 5, 1929, from the collection of the Chicago History Museum.
