Well, reading all of that big, bright text was rough but somehow he had managed to get himself to do it. And, the second he had ended up reading it all and discovering just what the term meant, Hirari’s face went from displeased to well, even MORE displeased. Grumbling loudly to himself, he began quickly texting back as quick as his five digits could manage.

No jerk guy needed to be hitting on Naoto-chan like that anyway, she was a pure-hearted maiden.

Now, being so close to Naoto-chan, Hirari surely did always want to do all sorts of couple-y activities with her. On the other hand, he knew he truly couldn’t as he was always unsure if his feelings for her were reciprocated. Perhaps he should have wished for these feelings to have waned. What if Naoto had already found her one true love in the time-span that he was gone? 

A rush of these thoughts were recurring, but they seemed to instantly fade as he sat up from his chair. He hadn’t noticed that the bluette was there, waiting for him in order to discuss important matters. He probably should have though, as he had only managed to stand half-way up until his quick response was to tug away, his lips having just barely danced upon her own for a good ten milliseconds. 

“..My sincerest apologies, Naoto-chan. I didn’t realize you were so close to me.” His words were muddled, and his voice a wee bit sheepish. This was probably the closest he’d ever been to really kissing her.

“Oh..?” What was this? The last time he had been around Naoto she had always been so sheepish when it came to intimacy and touching. Perhaps he had made some sort of break through prior to leaving without ever knowing it. Either way, he was not going to reject this form of affection and instead lean on into it. Wrapping his arm around her shoulder, Hirari brought the adorable bluette much closer. “I’m glad you seem comfortable enough to do this with me now, Naoto-chan..”

“I’m so tired… but there’s no way I’m going back to sleep after that.”

“It’ll be fine.. besides.. Should your nightmares disturb you again, I will be sure to bat them all away. But, if you don’t wish to fall back asleep I am here for your comfort Naoto-chan. Do you want some hot tea?”

“Yeah! You had just disappeared, so I got worried… I thought– maybe Hirari-kun hates me and left?” Her voice dipped into a melancholic tone, looking regretful as she stared lowly at the ground, but said attitude waned within seconds. “Just kidding, but I’m really glad to see you again.”

The small gesture was enough to make her don a pleased smile, and Masumi let out a chuckle before she climbed off him; flopping by his side onto her butt. “That’s okay. I don’t mind not living with you, it just means I’m going to have to visit you extra. Have you met Naoto-chan yet? I bet she got excited when she saw your name on the board too.”

“Ah--” Before he could get a word in, his heart was almost stopped by the sullen statement that Masumi gave, fingers prompted to loosen from her hair and quickly to rest his palm to he cheek. “I could never bring myself to hate you, Masumi-chan! You are one of the most precious people to me..” 

Now, he couldn’t explain it. But, having seen that depressing expression reminded Hirari of someone-- who that was, he didn’t know. “..Masumi-chan please! My heart cannot take such jokes, it could bring me to tears to see such a beautiful woman with such a sad expression.” He humorously chastised her, thankful there was now a smile on her cheeks.

What a disappointing feeling it was, when Masumi slipped away to settle beside him. Embracing someone else, it is what always made him feel so comfortable. “I’m glad you still plan to visit me, and I will be sure to do the same with you. I’ll even bring along the Sake for us to enjoy a few drinks together!--- Ahah kidding of course.. I know you and Naoto-chan don’t drink.” 

Now, when she mentioned Naoto probably being excited over him, Hirari could have been compared to a puppy wagging its tail when it’s owner came home, because he definitely was over-the-top excited over the thought of Naoto actually having missed him. “I... I have not seen her yet, but I am so glad she cares so much as to have missed me like that!”

“Hirari-kun!” she was slightly surprised to see him, sure people left and came back all the time but for some reason she really hadn’t been expecting this “It’s been quite some time- Ah do you still remember your last visit to the island?” that was the more important question first.

Now, he was fairly certain the voice he had heard must’ve been a ghost. Only in his distant dreams would Naoto-chan have such a sweet tone to her voice, and such an ecstatic expression just from his return. Yet, at that second sound of her voice, Hirari’s neck was quickly craning, his whole body jerking in the sole direction of her. “Naoto-chan! You’ve come to greet me, too?! Ahh! I’m so glad.. ..I suppose I do not remember everything, but those God’s up above must have blessed me and allowed me to have these precious memories of times spent with you, Naoto-chan~”

“I’ve never really been the seducing type, Naoto-chan. ..I am just so overjoyed to see your face again. It’s quite a sight to behold.. How he must have been blessed by all of the God’s above for this sacred day. Sure, he would not have expected to be pounced by Masumi-chan, the girl might have always been excited to see him, but never to this extent. The blond was far from opposed though, single hand having planted his fall and a cheery smile settling widely on his cheeks.

“My oh my~ Masumi-chan it’s been so long! I can see you’re just as happy to see me as I am to see you~” Sitting upward enough to not need to use his hand as a support, instead letting his fingers get lost in her dark tresses, a charming greeting to her from his return. “It would seem last night, and indeed it has! Although sadly we won’t be sharing a room any longer... ah well.. It is what it is. At least I can see that wonderful smile on a day to day basis again.”
