Getting back to Insanity
Yesterday I looked in the mirror and saw that I had absolutely no definition in my stomach area. As much as I have been regularly exercising at least once per week, I have not been eating the healthiest way, allowing myself to indulge more than once per week.Â
I miss feeling toned. I miss the regularity of exercise. The feeling of pride when I see definition, when I fit into clothes better, when my stomach doesn’t bloat as easily. Nowadays it seems that I exercise only because I want to show people that I am leading a healthy lifestyle, but it is slowly becoming more of something to “show” rather than something I am doing for myself.
I used to keep all my workouts a secret. I did Insanity every single day and ate healthy. I never did tell the people around me because I didn’t want people to wonder why, and question why, which they always do when they happen to find out. But ultimately, the results were for myself. And the achievement and happiness I felt translated into other parts of my life.
Tomorrow I start Insanity Day 1 again. Through this routine, I hope to gain back the perseverance and confidence I once had. Exercising isn’t just about my body, it’s about my mind as well, and pushing myself to do this every single day might be hard, but it will definitely be worth it.Â
