Do you think we'll ever get a main guy x guy romance in the Rainverse? Like, one that's a central focus or at least significant enough in the story? In Rain, which isn’t even technically a romance comic, the main romance was Rain and Emily. Maria and Chanel were the second most focused couple. And then Gavin and Ana and Fara and Vincent are third most focused both of which are straight couples. Carver and Isaac, who are part of a poly ship, are more just a supporting couple that doesn't get much focus. The closest to a guy x guy relationship between main characters is probably Ryan and Rudy, but even they are just friends for most of the comic, and it’s only in the final chapter that it’s clear they’re an item.
With MIS, I’m guessing we’ll see more girl x girl romances, given that Chiaki is the main character, and probably some straight pairings too.
So, should we expect a prominent guy x guy romance in MIS or possibly in a future project? I'm fine if you're more comfortable writing more sapphic romances and all, I get it.
You've certainly given me something to think about. It's funny, in a way, that I don't think I even realized how little representation I give to guy x guy pairings in my work. And when they are there, you're right, they're not usually the most prominent. Like, I could mention Gavin's dad and his boyfriend, but even they don't have a lot of actual screentime. Sorry for that. I don't think it's intentional. I think my brain is just skewed by my own experience, being a woman married to a femme-leaning enby. ^^; MIS does have at least one prominent queer male relationship planned. Redge has mentioned in passing that he has a husband, and while the other guy hasn't shown up yet (and admittedly won't for a while yet), I do expect the two to be fairly prominent in the story when he does. All that said, I will give this some thought. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. ^_^
