Shout out to the nurses and doctors that have dealt with me the last month, you’re all awesome and I love and appreciate what you do.

In truth, I actually went to the hospital twice in as many weeks. The second time, I had gone to urgent care first, but they told me to go to the hospital right away to make sure that the stones I had weren’t causing kidney damage.
Kidney stones, a zero out of ten experience.
As a side note, I really don’t like the word “content” in this context, but in the interest of best preserving the words the doctor used, it was “content”’s time to shine.
I’ve had a comic in the past talking about feeling safer using he/him in emergency situations. In short, I don’t know what people’s prejudices are, so when stakes are higher I don’t draw attention to the fact that I’m trans.
For things like the hospital, there’s also a bit of convenience factor to consider, as all my paperwork has me listed as male. Now, once folks look at my medical history they’ll know my deal, but for the most part it’s preferred not to take extra time at check in when I’m in pain.
Every nurse and doctor has been lovely in my experience so far though, and I love when we get to have laughs like this.
…juuuuussssstttttt wish they came with better circumstances.
