New blog

I’ve started a side blog for my embroidery, so thought I’d just do a bit of an intro post. My main is @mypeoplesnativedance

Basically going through the stage where I’ve turned 25 this year and my brain feels like it’s clicked into place. I’m feeling like I want to be creative, in a way I haven’t for about 10 years. I’m engaging with fandom stuff a lot more again. And when I was looking through the Kingdom Come Deliverance tag, I saw some incredible KCD embroidery, and decided that’s what I needed to do!

So I bought a terrible little kit from Amazon and learned the basics about a month ago. Then naturally once I’d finished that, threw myself in headfirst with an overly ambitious project, bought an encyclopaedia of stitches, bought a sketchbook and actually drew some stuff for the first time in a long time, and started working on something KCD inspired.

So, the picture above is what I’ve been working on for a couple of weeks. If you’ve played Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll recognise the location and the little guy from the map. Currently just going a bit insane with the couching stitches trying to fill the grass.

I’ll post the finished product when it’s done- unless it’s terrible and I hate it, in which case, forget you read this post ✌️

And if anyone’s got any tips for an embroidery newbie that made your life 1000x easier, please tell me!
