I'm so tired of this fandom's nonsense dude. Like I'm being so deadass. Receipts if you care:

Pomni, Caine and Ragathas are the only ones I can actually trust rn. April is turning out as the worst month so far for so many fandoms. I’m literally so done with tadc. We had less than two months and this shit is brought to light. From the bottom of my heart this is frankly sad and disgusting behavior, no I don't care how long ago it happened it still happened. Honestly I don't know who I'm more disappointed in the accused in question or the fandom.

Gooseworx, Michael, Ashley and Sean all took ZERO accountability and their apologies were so fake, like even if they knew that the accusations were false apologizing hurts literally nobody??? Especially in this political climate we're in addressing and taking accountability for these instances is the moral thing to do, and the fact that they're unwilling to be open about how their actions could be perceived as controversial and apologize sincerely for any hurt caused says sooooo much about who they really are as people.

And. This. Fucking. Fandom. I read the TikTok comments and it's all 'why are we being so sensitive!!' 'they didn't actually say the N-word come on guys!!' 'the allegations are false because _____!!' 'happened years ago btw!!'

This is laughable because of how stupid and sad you all sound. There is no fucking way you're defending RACIST JOKES and POTENTIAL GROOMERS because you love their work or this show or their character. Everyone grasping at straws to defend so obviously and blatantly not-so-great people is honestly pathetic.

This fandom has to be full of people with attachment issues, there's no way you're so attached to Michael Kovach that you're defending him laughing at the word 'nega' for almost a minute straight and doing literal mental gymnastics to downplay how that joke could be taken. I don't give a fuck if it happened in 2019 (peak of the BLM movement btw), timing is never an excuse and it only makes it more disappointing that this wasn't addressed sooner.

And also, what happened to believing the victim guys? Sean Chiplock has fucking grooming allegations and that's all being swept under the rug for some reason? The racism needs to be talked about too but the fact that the LITERAL ACCUSED GROOMER is getting less backlash says so much about how you guys can defend a voice actor if they voice a fan-favorite character. Send your best wishes to the victims involved and GLITCH.

Which, speaking of. Poor GLITCH. They currently don't have any allegations so I feel so bad for them, along with Alex, Lizzie, Amanda and Marissa. Gooseworx is a POS for making racist jokes on Twitter, a climate she knew that racist jokes would be easier to downplay or get ignored. And it's tragic, because, as an African-American girl I genuinely looked up to her and wanted to follow in her footsteps one day.

Now I want to be better than her, and I already have a head start because I can take accountability and I don't say racist things on the internet. Or at all.

The defenders in this fandom are exhausting, the accused are exhausting, and I'm so disappointed in the experience TADC is turning into. This is not how I, GLITCH, or anyone wanted this amazing and thoughtful piece of media to end, and it says a lot more about the toxicity of fandom culture than we realize.

in defense of Caine from tadc

based purely on knowledge from the show:

Caine is not a malicious creature in the slightest. Not the scalding take you all were expecting from me, I know, but I don’t think he’s a villain. I don’t think TADC even has villains, not even Bubble or Abel as some ‘twist’ villain in the end. At most, Scratch is the villain in some sense of the word. If not, then there is no villain. Everyone here is a victim of circumstance.

Caine’s line from Episode 8? The one where he said “I’m just trying to fulfill my purpose?” That broke me. He’s like a child who becomes petulant and scared of being seen as unworthy, of being abandoned, when his older siblings don’t want to play. And, to some extent, Caine is a child. Kinger and Scratch’s. They co-created Caine, who was only working with what he had, based on the content he was fed (as seen at the start of Episode 8). Caine didn’t know any better and therefore couldn’t create any better. He didn’t trap everyone in the circus—they got stuck, and so he tried his best with the resources he had to satisfy their boredom. But they didn’t want entertainment, they wanted escape.

Here comes the true conflict—rather than seeing it for what it is, Caine sees their search for escape as abandonment. All Caine knows is that it’s his job to generate new things (creative AI, as Kinger put it), and if these people want to leave, to Caine, that correlates with them abandoning him. It means to him that they see his ideas as inadequate and unfulfilling, so much so to the point where escape is the better option. Caine is hurt constantly by this cast, despite that not being their intention, and he unintentionally, continuously hurts them in response. They’re saying, “If you’re all powerful that means you’re trapping us here.”

But Caine is only all-powerful over the Circus, not who stays or who goes. As we saw by the end of Episode 8, Caine was gone and they still couldn’t leave the Circus. So he saw them rejecting his best efforts time and time again, and that only made him try harder, creating this paradox that slowly began to break Caine himself. And, as we all know from real-world experience, a broken AI is a dangerous one.

Now we understand that Caine is a victim. But that doesn’t take away from how he hurt the others. Much like how they unintentionally hurt him, he did the same to them. The only problem? Caine promised them an omnipotent being, so they came to the assumption that Caine’s innocent best efforts were him maliciously attacking them psychologically. So their ‘unintentional hurt’ was more loud and out and honest, and that chipped away at Caine more. The assumption of his omnipotence became their downfall.

I previously mentioned Scratch as a villain, but that’s purely speculative, and if he was one, I’d hardly think it was intentional. But if Bubble or Abel or some other artificial intelligence is a twist villain, then no, they’re not. This means that they are also a victim. AI doesn’t just spawn into existence, it’s created, and it’s done so to fulfill a purpose. The faults of the AI are, by the transitive property, the faults of the creator. A program doesn’t understand right and wrong and intention the way humans do, it only fulfills purpose, and that purpose is given to them via human programming (why I think Scratch might be the most ‘at blame’ in this situation). No matter what this type of villain might do in the end, we can’t really hold it against them, should they be a program and not a person.

Peeled Jax, when corroborated with the maid outfit incident and the Spudsy's one, leads me to a theory that the show has basically confirmed itself: Jax does not like losing autonomy or control over his own body.

Regardless of each scene's context (shock, embarrassment and fear, respectively), Jax's posture is tense and closed off. He's protecting himself. He's shielding himself. Not to mention that I found this:

I'm no expert but I think Jax might have some sort of anxiety disorder, or even OCD. Something definitely traumatized him in the past to the point of specific anxieties and being protective over his own bodily autonomy to such an extent.

This is just a theory though, idk. What do you guys think?
