do i think that some writers use asexuality as a way to distance their characters from a popular ship? yea.

do i think it's weird how almost anytime a popular character is said to be asexual in some way or another, people act like it's a death sentence to their ships or fantasies about said character? yea.

i mean, aside from the fact that asexual people can and do have sex, are people really that hard pressed to imagine a romantic dynamic outside of the confines of sex? your ship isn't dead bc the creator of the media didn't envision the characters fucking. the character doesn't stop being hot because they're not canonically interested in sex.
